The latest data released by Internet traffic monitoring agency StatCounter shows that the current market share of Microsoft Windows XP operating system in China is still as high as 54.13%, while the world's most popular number one operating system, Windows7, is in China has a market share of 38.01%, ranking second.

StatCounter said that even though Microsoft has been working hard to promote its latest Windows 8 operating system for the past two years, and will release the first major upgrade to Windows 8.1 in two weeks, the data shows other operating platforms. Temporarily unsuccessful, all market share is far behind Windows 7 and Windows XP operating systems.

From the data provided, the Windows 8 operating system with ultra-simplified, ultra-modern user interface and style does occupy the third place in the market in China, but the market share is only 2.56%. Other platforms such as iOS and Mac OS X have market shares of only 1.77% and 1.10% respectively. As for Vista and Android, they are also on the list, with a share of 0.61% and 0.55% respectively.


Earlier, Microsoft announced that after April 8, 2013, Microsoft officials will no longer provide technical support for Windows XP operating system, including system updates and security patches. Microsoft hopes that by the deadline, all Windows users around the world will be able to switch to Win7 or Win8, especially Windows 8 optimized for touch.
