International Space Station decided to abandon Windows

Computer store news: It seems that Windows 8 is a child who should not be born. It’s not popular on Earth, and the International Space Station (ISS), which is far away from space, is not going to accept this “big ambition” system. According to foreign media reports, ISS decided to abandon Windows and switch to Linux in the next system upgrade.

The computer system in ISS consists of multiple notebooks running on the same network. It guarantees the normal operation of astronauts' daily important things; informs astronauts where they are, manages the running equipment, and even connects to the camera, takes space photos and videos and shares them with people on the Internet.

The Linux Foundation said that Keith Chuvala of the US Space Agency will be responsible for the handover of the system.

Chuvala said that the space agency decided to replace the system in order to maintain the stability of the ISS computer system - the implication is that the over-the-form form of Win8 did not meet their requirements.

Recently, Chuvala and his team members are receiving training from the Linux Foundation, hoping to deploy Linux on ISS as soon as possible. It is reported that the Linux Foundation has set up two different training courses for different needs of the two teams of USA and NASA.
