Buffalo Releases World's Fastest Mechanical Hard Drive

  

Computer Store News: Buffalo recently released the HD-GDU3 series of external mechanical hard drives, which integrate up to 1GB of DRAM cache and write speeds that exceed the staggering 400MB/s. According to reports, HD-GDU3 series body size 202 & times; 126 & times; 45 mm, there are three capacity versions, respectively 1TB (HD-GD1.0U3), 2TB (HD-GD2.0U3), 3TB (HD-GD3.0U3) They are equipped with a 1GB DRAM cache, the interface is USB 3.0, and Buffalo's own high-speed file transfer software Turbo PC EX2.

Official data shows that this hard disk can get 408.1MB/s write speed on Windows XP/Vista/7/8 system, which is 2.3 times faster than ordinary hard disk, but on Apple Mac OS X. Turbo PC EX2 cannot be used under the system, it is slower, but it can also run out of 297.5MB/s. If you are transferring 1000 photos, the average hard disk takes 7.8 seconds, HD-GDU3 with acceleration software takes only 3.5 seconds, and only 5.6 seconds without software.
