Steam's latest data shows that Windows 10 dominates PC games

Computer store news: Valve announced the operating system share on the Steam platform in June. The Windows 10 64-bit version was already the number one platform on Steam a few months ago, and the operating system share has grown at an alarming rate for several months, reaching a 50% threshold by the end of the summer.

This statistic shows that Windows 10's share increased by 3.26% last month to 42.94%, and Windows 7 64-bit share is currently the runner-up. Last month's share fell by 1.64%. Came to 30.61%. The Windows 8.1 64-bit share is also declining, with last month's share dropping by 1.01% to 10.07%. The Windows 7 32-bit market share fell by 0.41% to around 6.36%.

Windows 10 is the only version with an increased share, with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions increasing last month. On the other hand, due to Microsoft's improved game features in Windows 10, built-in DirectX 12, the market share of other versions of Windows declined last month.

As for non-Windows platforms, Microsoft doesn't have to worry about their competition in PC games. Mac OS X's share on the Steam platform last month was 3.60%, Linux share was 0.04%, Ubuntu 16.04 share was 0.01%.
