Institutions predict that Windows computer share will fall to 65% this year,

According to foreign media reports, market analysis company Canalys recently predicted that the impact of Apple's iPad and Android tablet PC, this year's Windows PC market share will fall from 72% to 65 %.

Canalys said that Windows computer shipments will be reduced by 5%. This is largely due to the poor sales of notebook products and the unsatisfactory promotion of Windows 8 systems.

Canalys noted that total shipments of desktops, netbooks and tablets decreased by about 10% in the fourth quarter of 2012.

Canalys said that from 2014 to 2016, products in the PC industry will tend to adopt a hybrid form factor. Consumers in mature and high-growth markets are increasingly interested in new PC designs with touch screens.

Canalys also expects the tablet market to grow at an average annual rate of 37% between 2012 and 2016. Shipments will reach 389 million units, accounting for 59% of the entire PC market.

This growth will be driven by Apple's iPad, iPad mini, low-cost content-subsidized Android products, and Windows-based hybrid PC products such as the Microsoft Surface Pro.

Canalys believes that a hybrid form factor will add value to the tablet, increase its tooling capabilities, and drive consumers to move from a laptop to a tablet.

<; From the use of mail, Internet and other purposes, Wintel will no longer be the first choice for people. The release of the Windows 8 system did not revitalize the market in 2012, and it is expected that there will be no positive effects in 2013. This product is too different from previous versions, and most consumers will choose to reject it because they need to relearn," said analysts at Canalys.
