Microsoft revenue pull action and Win7/Vista can't compare

Computer store news:

Windows8 boosted Microsoft revenue, but the amplitude is not as big as Microsoft hopes. In the second fiscal quarter ended December 31, 2012, Windows business revenue increased 24% to $5.8 billion —— including deferred revenue, ending the decline in Windows business revenue for four consecutive quarters.
However, Windows 8 is not as good at boosting Microsoft's performance as Windows 7.

Windows 7 released that quarter, Windows business revenue increased by 76%; Windows Vista release led to a 65% increase in Windows business revenue. Recently, PC sales have been declining, and the role of Win8
in reversing this trend is not obvious. Microsoft also released WP8
in the second quarter, but entertainment and equipment division revenue fell 11%. This is a worrying signal, the department also includes the mature Xbox 360 and Kinect entertainment system & mdash; & mdash; has been the engine of steady growth of Microsoft's revenue. Business unit revenue, including Office, fell 10%. Microsoft said its second-quarter net profit fell 4% to $6.4 billion, with earnings per share of 76 cents. Analysts' expectations for Microsoft's earnings per share for the second quarter were 75 cents; Microsoft's revenue rose 3% to $21.5 billion, in line with analysts' expectations. In today's regular trading, Microsoft shares rose 2 cents, or 0.07%, to close at $27.63. In after-hours trading, Microsoft's share price fell by 2%.
