Microsoft example makes Windows Phone 8 application more energy efficient development method

Computer Store News:
If you frequently read articles on the Microsoft blog, then you may be a non-professional in a specific technology or development. Today, Microsoft has released a new article on its
Windows Phone App Developer Blog
, which provides some creators of the app with "how to make their apps more power efficient" (more Tips for using the battery effectively. One of the examples given in the blog post is that the application can easily save energy by simply selecting a good background image.
The article gives a very easy to understand example, such as the two different background images above, the darker the more energy-saving.

By running an application that switches background images every 5 seconds, you get the power consumption of different images. The purple background is 0.37 mAh, which means about 7 hours of equipment uptime; the black background is only 0.09 mAh, which means it can be more than 24 hours. In addition to this example, the blog also illustrates the energy consumed to connect to different wireless signals. In general, mobile networks use more energy than WiFi connections. Application developers can also optimize their software to make better use of hardware such as CPUs on the device. Developers can use the "power monitoring tool" in the Microsoft Windows Phone 8 SDK to check the battery power consumed by each application lock. Microsoft said the tool can estimate the power consumption of CPUs, displays, networks and other resources (the power model is built on a standard 1500mAh battery).
