Microsoft Xbox Live downtime compensation program

Beijing time on January 1st news, according to foreign media reports, Microsoft has promised to provide a one-month gold medal service for Xbox Live users affected by service downtime accidents as compensation.

It is reported that Microsoft Xbox Live crashed on Friday, causing many users to use the Cloud Saved Games feature. This feature allows the user to keep the game archive on the network for later reading by the user. They can also use other consoles to read those archives if they wish.

Users in many areas are affected by downtime to varying degrees, and the time to use cloud storage game features can vary from 2 hours to 2 days.

As of Tuesday morning, this feature has fully returned to normal. However, in order to make up for the inconvenience and loss caused by the user's lost game time and downtime, Microsoft will provide the affected users with one month of Xbox Live Gold service for free.

Moreover, users do not need to actively contact customer service support personnel, Microsoft can distinguish the affected users and automatically issue the above compensation services.

Microsoft's statement is as follows:

We would like to thank Xbox Live users who are affected by the cloud storage game service failure, thank you for your patience and understanding. The time it takes for this feature to return to normal is longer than we expected because we need to ensure the integrity of the game archive for each user. Regardless of whether you are affected for 2 hours or 2 days, we are very sorry for the delay and inconvenience caused by this failure. We will automatically extend the 1-hour service time for affected Xbox Live Gold Service members. We pledge to conduct a thorough post-mortem analysis to avoid the recurrence of such incidents.

I will continue to welcome you with feedback.
