The Linux Foundation is still working on booting Linux

on Windows 8. The Linux Foundation has been looking for a way to launch a Linux-based operating system on a Windows 8 PC. In October, the Linux Foundation announced that it came up with a way to make any open source-based operating system boot on a Windows 8 PC. Although Microsoft's Windows 8 operating system uses the "Uniform Extensible Firmware Interface" (UEFI) for better security, it also makes it more difficult to dual boot another operating system on a PC.

The Linux Foundation says its solution would be: "obtain a Microsoft Key and sign a small pre-bootloader that can be chained (No need for any form of signature check) Scheduled boot loader to start Linux (or any other operating system) ".

However, it has been more than a month since the announcement. ZDNet.com contacted the author of the Linux bulletin, James Bottomley, who said: "We have all completed and signed a contract with Microsoft, which is ready to be released." Bottomley added that the solution has not been released because of technical problems. This problem seems to end with Microsoft. "I am not sure how long it will take to work with Microsoft, but I hope it will only take a few days". He says.
