European Windows 8 users are free to choose the browser

Computer store news: Recently, the European Commission is responsible for antitrust matters. In an interview with the media at an economic conference, Joaquin Almunia said that Microsoft has assured him that he will abide by the settlement agreement with the EU antitrust regulator regarding browser options.

Sure enough, Microsoft today launched an update for European users called "browser ballot". Windows 8 users in Europe are now free to choose the browser they wish to install. In addition to the default Internet Explorer, the alternate browser includes Safari, Mozilla, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Maxthon, Opera, and more.

After the user has installed the update, they will need to restart the computer. The system then automatically loads the browser selection page, allowing the user to make an "important choice". The default browser for Windows 8 is Internet Explorer. In this update, Internet Explorer will be removed from the taskbar at the bottom of the Windows 8 desktop and the browser that the user chooses to install will be locked on the taskbar.
