Windows 8 game performance test: compatibility needs to be improved

With such doubts, Friends Station Super Network conducted a game test under Windows 8 Preview. The test platform uses Intel Core i7-2600K processor and P67 motherboard. The graphics card uses MSI Radeon HD 6970 2GB and Sotec GeForce GTX 570 as the representative of A/N graphics card. The memory is G.Skill DDR3-1600 4GB x2, and the power supply is Silvertone. 1200W, the hard drive uses Intel X25-V 40GB SSD+Hitachi 3TB HDD.

The graphics card driver selected AMD Catalyst 11.8 WHQL, NVIDIA GeForce 280.26 WHQL, are the latest official version of WHQL.

The test project includes ten 3D games, as well as 3DMark Vantage and 3DMark 11.

First of all, compatibility is as follows:

12 test games (software), a half actually have not run properly on Windows 8, such as "Dust 2" (Steam Edition), "Dust 3", "Crysis 2", "Defense 2", 3DMark 11, 3DMark Vantage, etc. The specific problems are also different. For example, "Crysis 2" can play but cannot adjust the resolution. Other games are automatically closed after running the program, even if the compatibility mode is set, the problem cannot be solved.
