Traditional desktops will become independent programs in Win 8

In the past few days, Microsoft has been talking about improvements related to Windows 8. Oddly enough, the so-called improvements mentioned above include modifications to the classic desktop, which should be a big deal for Windows 8.

Stephen made an official statement on the matter, and Microsoft doesn't want to be a barrier between tablets and laptops/desktops. In fact, he hopes that the operating system can be played on both sides. Why can't we use the current tablet, connect the mouse, keyboard and then connect a second monitor, just use it like a normal computer? This is what Microsoft wants to do now.

He said: "In view of this, the role of the Windows desktop is very clear. He shows the programs that thousands of people use every day and provides precise control. Nowadays people rely on the mouse, keyboard and touchpad. These devices don't suddenly become useless, just because the touch method provides the best choice. Because this is the most ergonomic principle, it is fast and powerful. & rdquo; So, this is why Microsoft chose to give up the original desktop way to display Windows. But even with the new Metro interface, the classic interface is still in the system.

Of course, this raises some questions. When the new interface in Windows 8 was first shown this year, the classic interface would run in the background, which wasted system resources and battery life. The Metro interface is just A shell program? Can I completely remove this classic interface? Can I stop running? And so on.

There is no technical detail at this point, but yesterday's demo shows that the new user interface is not dependent on the resource manager. The new interface is not a program that loads after the classic Windows Explorer desktop is loaded. I think Microsoft has turned the classic interface into a separate program that will only run when it is run.

You'll get a beautiful, fast, smooth, Metro style interface and a new property (platform) that can be used with a variety of applications, far beyond traditional graphic design. You will find that you will get an amazing touch experience, which can also be used with a mouse, trackpad and keyboard. If you want to stay in the Metro world forever, you will never see the traditional desktop unless you explicitly choose to go there!

I think we will have to wait until Microsoft's September meeting. In any case, I am very excited about how to force Microsoft to completely transform Windows in this ever-changing industry. But only time will tell us whether this is a worthwhile change.
