How to install F11 one-click restore function for desktop computer? Many notebooks come with F11 one-click restore function. In this article, we will use Acronis True Image software (ATI) running from DOS mode with a separate kernel to install F11 one-click restore function for desktop computers.

Many notebooks come with F11 one-button restore function. When there is a problem in the system, press F11 function key before starting to restore the system to the factory configuration. In fact, all desktops can also have such features.

Of course, there are a lot of third-party recovery software, but more based on DOS mode, backup to restore to DOS mode to complete, more trouble!

This article we are going to tell is to use a Acronis True Image software (ATI) running in DOS mode with a separate kernel to install F11 one-click restore function for desktop computers. It mainly includes the establishment of hidden partitions, system cloning to hidden partitions, and recovery of the system from a hidden partition. This solution is also available for all assembly machines and notebooks.

First, create F11 one-key backup hidden partition

First create the F11 one-key backup system hidden partition, after creation, the system backup data will be stored in this hidden partition. We use Acronis True Image professional backup software to complete the task. There are two ways to create ATI hidden partitions: one is to install ATI software on the computer, then start ATI software to create in Windows environment; the other is to create with ATI bootable recovery disc, first set in BIOS Boot from the CD, start the computer with the ATI system recovery CD, enter the ATI management environment, and establish a hidden partition. We build hidden partitions with ATI running under Windows.

Step 1: Start ATI and execute the "Tools → Activate Acronis Startup Recovery Management" command.

Step 2: The space allocation dialog will pop up, select the partition to be used to allocate space, generally select the last partition, and then click "Next".

Step 3: Pop up the partition space selection dialog, select the "Activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager" checkbox; and drag the slider left and right to specify the size of the secure partition (Acronis Secure Zone, ASZ for short) You can also enter a number in the text box below or use the up and down arrows to select the size of the Acronis Secure Zone space.

Step 4: Next, the password protection dialog box will pop up to set the operation protection for the backup security zone. In order to prevent others from entering this secure partition at will, it is best to set a protection password and select "Set Password". Enter the same password twice and enter your answer after selecting the secret question below. After setting, click "Next".

Step 5: Pop up the partition preview summary window. The above graphic lists the status of the current partition. The following graphic lists the adjusted partition allocation status. If it is correct, click “Execute”. Button.

Step 6: The system displays the re-adjustment of the partition prompt. After the adjustment is completed, the partition prompt is created, followed by the “Activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager” prompt, and finally the ASZ creation success message is displayed.

At this point, the ASZ security zone has been established and activated, and then you can use F11 to enter the startup recovery manager when starting the computer. The backup is working.

Step 1: When the computer starts, the Starting Acronis Loader... prompt message will appear. At this time, press the F11 function key on the keyboard.

Step 2: After the program enters ATI's main interface, choose to enter the ATI main program.

Step 3: Since we have previously set the ASZ password protection, we need to enter the password to enter the ASZ security zone.

Step 4: Enter the software interface, select “Backup” to create a data backup, and then select the backup data type as “My Computer” (Figure 9).

Step 5: Select the partition to be backed up as the boot partition C drive (Figure 10).

Step 6: Select the "Create a new backup archive" type, then select the backup location via the "Browse" button.

Select the target space as the Acronis Secure Zone partition, then enter the backup file name and confirm.

Backup select the "full" backup mode. If you back up the system later, you can select " Incremental or "difference" mode.

Step 8: The system displays the backup summary information. After confirming the error, click the “Execute” button to start the system backup to ASZ. After the partition image creation process, the system prompts that the backup operation is successful.

Third, restore the system from the hidden partition

The recovery process from the hidden partition is very simple, similar to the backup operation above, but this is the restore operation performed, no longer here Detailed description. Just know that you can use F11 to enter the boot recovery manager to recover when you start your computer.
