The system home often hears that some WINDOWS7 or VISTA users complain that the desktop cannot be changed. If you have encountered a similar problem, please follow the solution provided by the system home step by step.

First, do a comprehensive virus killing of the system, and then try again, if not, then please restart to see if it is caused by program interference.

After the basic steps of these two steps are completed? Still not? So, try the following method.

Enter the Easy Access Center in the Start Search box and press
to pull the slider to “ browse all settings”. Click “ Make your computer easier to see”.
Take a look at the bottom of the window <; Make the content displayed on the screen easier to view & rdquo; part & ldquo; delete the background image (if any) & rdquo; Is it checked? If so, please clear the check.

Can I check if the wallpaper can be changed? If it still doesn't work, try Method 2

Method 2:

(This step requires administrator privileges) How to lock the desktop background in Windows 7 In, it details how to prevent desktop background changes in Group Policy. Similarly, to change the background, reverse the operation and configure them separately to “not configured”

If your system version does not support the Group Policy Editor, you can try to modify it directly from the registry as follows:
Use the key combination <;Win+R” Command box. Type regedit.exe and press Enter to open the Registry Editor. (If the User Account Control window pops up, please allow to continue)

Locate the following registry key in order:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies
< o:p>
Find the ActiveDesktop item. (If not, right click on “Policies”, select “New->Item” and name it ActiveDesktop)

Click to expand ActiveDesktop, right click on the right detail window , select “New->DWORD Value", name it NoChangingWallPaper

Assign a value to the new value NoChangingWallPaper. 1 means to prevent changes, 0 means to allow changes. Here, we assign it a value of 0.

Click “OK> to save your changes and exit the Registry Editor.
Restart the computer, can the wallpaper be changed now?

Method 3

If it doesn't work, look at the TranscodedWallpaper.jpg file, maybe it's a problem.

Enter the following address in the address bar and press Enter.
%USERPROFILE%\\AppData\\Roaming\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Themes

Rename TranscodedWallpaper.jpg to TranscodedWallpaper.old. (If the file suffix name is not visible, click “Alt+T” bring up the toolbar, open the “Tools->Folder Options”, uncheck the “ on the “View” tab to hide Know the file extension & rdquo;.)

Then, double-click to open slideshow.ini, clear all file contents. Exit the resource manager.
