Experts share the way to modify the resolution under the Linux operating system

Generally, no matter what kind of system, you should adjust the resolution according to the condition of your computer. However, under Linux, everyone may not be very familiar with it. Only those who work with this system will use it, but today it is still with everyone. Talk about some tips on resolution.

Open a terminal window in the desktop environment, run the xvidtune command, use the middle button to drag VTotal, then you will see the value of the Vertical sync will change, adjust to the value you want (not Too high), then press test to try the effect, if there is no problem, press show to record the output of the line displayed on the terminal window. A statement like this:

"1024x768" 94.50 1024 1093 1168 1376 768 769 772 808 +hsync +vsync

Edit /etc/XF86Config (now the system is mostly /etc/X11/XF86Config or /etc/X11/XF86Config-4) file, find Section "Monitor" that section, you should see something like

Modeline "1024x768" 94.50 1024 1093 1168 1376 768 769 772 808 +hsync +vsync

Such a statement (if you don't have it, add the Modeline at the beginning, add it to the front of the EndSection, the red flag linux will not), modify the value according to what you just wrote down, Save after the change, and then restart xwindow ok.

Sometimes you adjust the position of the screen in win and find that the screen is turned to the side after starting xwindow (my machine is very biased, probably 3 cm right), if you adjust the adjustment function of the monitor After that, it is biased under win, the solution is to first adjust the positive position in win, then start linux, run xvidtune, use the left and right buttons to adjust the screen position, then show it down, then modify as above The file is ok.

In fact, the Linux system is different from the Microsoft system we use, but it is not too big. Like a small problem like this resolution, as long as you pay more attention to some techniques, the resolution still needs to be adjusted. Appropriate, otherwise it will have a significant impact on the display.
