Microsoft Office first appeared in the Windows Store desktop application directory

Microsoft said it will add a desktop application directory to the Windows 8 candidate release of the Windows Store. Currently, one of Microsoft's own software works, Microsoft Office 2010, has been released. As we have previously reported, the Windows Store desktop application only has a link to the developer's website, and does not even provide basic information such as installation size, rating, or permissions.

While Microsoft has strict application certification requirements for these, these links must also go directly to the purchase page. In addition, the price and version number on the front end of the Microsoft Store and on the developer's website must also be arranged.
