The computer has been used for a long time and the speed is getting slower (1)

The computer has been used for a long time, and it will feel the system running slower and slower. This is because there are a lot of useless program settings and system services that waste valuable system resources. In order to keep the system in good condition at all times, it is necessary to optimize the system on a regular basis to release the wasted resources in order to speed up the system.

First, boot optimization and fast weight loss

Some programs will set themselves to start with the computer. If you don't manage it, there will be more and more random startup programs. Not only will it slow down the system startup speed, but it will also consume a lot of system resources and cause unnecessary waste. For programs that do not need to be powered on, you can disable them by randomly cleaning the startup items.

Open "Run", type "msconfig", click "OK" button to open the "System Configuration Utility" window. Switch to the "Startup" tab, empty the useless startup items, and only check the startup items that are useful to you. You can click the “Disable All” button to empty all the options, and then check the required startup items one by one. Finally click on the "OK" button.

The "System Configuration" dialog box pops up, click the "Restart" button, and then restart the computer to clear the useless startup items, and the boot speed will be greatly accelerated.

There are 9 startup items before and after optimization. After booting, the available memory is about 171MB. After optimizing the startup items to 3, after restarting the computer and entering the desktop, the available memory is increased to about 220MB, saving nearly 50MB of memory space, and the optimization effect is quite obvious.

When you select a startup item to keep, the startup items for CTFMON (input method), anti-virus software, and firewall programs must be preserved. For example, the startup item name of Rising Anti-Virus is RavTask, and the startup name of Rising Firewall is rfwmain. If it is not possible to identify which program it belongs to by the startup item name, you can roughly determine which program it belongs to by the file path under the "Command" column. For unknown startup items, select Clear directly.

Second, only loves the classics and saves

A lot of friends like to use beautiful desktop, system theme and appearance, in fact, these are realized under the premise of consuming a lot of system resources. If you don't pay much attention to the system beautification, then you can use the classic style system theme, and then adjust the appearance to the best performance, you can save a lot of system resources.

Right-click on a blank space on the desktop and select Properties to open the Display Properties window.

In the "Themes" tab, select "Themes" as "Windows Classic". After clicking the "OK" button will change to the classic theme, the desktop background and window visual effects will be canceled by default.

Right-click "My Computer" on the desktop and select "Properties" to open the "System Properties" dialog box.

Switch to the "Advanced" tab and click the "Settings" button in the "Performance" bar to open the "Performance Options" dialog.

Select "Adjust to Best Performance" on the "Visual Effects" tab and click the "OK" button to turn off all visual effects.

Before optimizing, the available memory is 182MB. When the system changes to the classic theme, after all the visual effects are turned off, the available memory is displayed as 201MB, saving nearly 20MB of memory space.

After applying classic themes and "Setting for Best Performance", if you want to re-use some visual effects, you can manually tick them on the Video Effects tab as needed. For example, if you select the "Show shadows under the desktop icon" check box, click the "OK" button to cancel the background color block under the desktop icon.

Three, streamlined services save large resources

In Windows XP system, many system services will be enabled by default. Some system services are not necessary for individual users, and some will also be for the system. It is unacceptable to cause some hidden resources to waste some valuable system resources, such as security risks. We can manually disable those useless system services and release the resources that are occupied by them.

Right-click "My Computer" on the desktop and select "Manage" to open the "Computer Management" window.

Click the + sign in front of the "Services and Applications" option and click the "Services" option to open the "Services" window.

Clicking on the service name will display a detailed description of the service, which provides an overview of which services are useful to you and which are useless. When you find a useless service, right-click it and choose Properties to open the Properties dialog.

Select "Startup Type" as "Disabled" and click the "OK" button to close the service. Then use the same method to close other useless services. Re-

After starting the computer, these system services will no longer run randomly, and all the system resources they occupy will be released.

Before system service optimization, the number of processes is displayed as 31, and the available memory is 172MB. After shutting down 10 useless system services, restart the computer, the number of processes is reduced to 25, the available memory becomes 186MB, saving 12MB of memory space.

Some services are necessary services for the system to run, can not be closed, if the error is closed, the system will be wrong. If you don't know which services can be turned off, please refer to "Windows XP System Disabled System Service List" in this issue CD.

Through the above three measures, not only can a large number of system resources be saved, but the system running speed and stability will also be greatly improved. As long as you optimize the system regularly, you can ensure that your system runs fast and steady.

In the "real-time protection" function of "360 Security Guard", the "system key position protection" service is enabled, and the change of the startup item can be monitored in real time. If a program is to be added to the startup item, it will give It is very convenient to let you choose to allow or close.

If you want to manually cancel the desktop background, right-click on the blank space to select "Properties", switch to the "Desktop" tab, and change the "Background" to "None" to cancel the desktop background. Click the "Color" button to change the background color of the desktop, and finally click the "OK" button to apply.
