Create Win XP/2003 Universal GHOST

Remember Win 98 and Win Me era, I heard friends want to reinstall the operating system, I will always take the initiative to help. When the friends who installed Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 gradually increased in the past few years, the author no longer had such a good mood to help others.

What is the reason? This is not because I have changed, but because the installation of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 can no longer be the same as before, can be done with ghost. This is because the hardware devices of the installed computer are recognized when installing the two operating systems of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. The ghost image files made on other computers can only be used by other machines themselves, unlike the Win98 and Win Me ghosts. The image file can be used on all computers that meet the installation requirements.

Although the current computer speed is getting faster and faster, and the operating system installation steps are becoming more and more simple, each time waiting for the system to slowly complete the installation step by step, after the system is installed, the application software is installed. Set the network usage rights, etc., it is not possible to install a complete system for a long time. It doesn't matter if you install a system occasionally, but if you regularly install Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, you will get bored.

So, is there any way to make Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 image files be the same as Win 98 and Win Me ghost image files, on all computers that meet the installation requirements? Have. This is to re-encapsulate the Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 operating system, and then make a ghost image file to achieve this. Let's take Windows XP as an example (Windows Server 2003 can be processed as usual), and listen to the author slowly:

The first step is to install the Windows XP operating system on a computer and lose weight. Then install some common software such as OFFICE2003, Winrar and so on to the system disk C:\\program file\\ directory, and then slim down the system. The purpose is mainly to reduce the size of the system disk, and compress its image file to 700M or even 650M as much as possible, so that we can burn the CD.

Turn off the power management sleep function first. Click on the desktop right--attribute--screen saver---power--advanced. As shown in the figure

cancel the selected state of "Enable Hibernate", then the page file hiberfil.sys in the root directory of the C drive will be deleted automatically, the space saved is the virtual memory you set. capacity. Then use the SFC command to delete the files in the C:\\Windows\\System32\\ dllcache directory to free up space. At the command prompt, type sfc.exe /purgecache (note: there is a space between sfc.exe and /) and you can lose about 300M.

The second step is to uninstall and change the drivers inside. Open Device Manager (right-click My Computer---Properties---Hardware--Device Manager) as shown below:

Uninstall Network Adapter, Universal Serial Bus Controller, Sound, Video Game Controller, Monitor Device, display card, just press the right button when uninstalling, click on the uninstall. (If you are prompted to reboot, press No, do not start, because once you restart the system, the hardware will be re-scanned, all the changes will be invalid!)

Next, change the Advanced Configuration of the computer. The Power Interface (ACPI) attribute is Standard PC.

Right click on Advanced Configuration Power Interface (ACPI), click Update Driver, and pop up "Hardware Update Wizard", click " Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)", Click "Next", and click " Do not search in the pop-up page (Figure)

. I have to choose the program to install by myself, click "Next" The following page appears:

and change to "Standard PC", point "Next" Click again " Finish After the " button, the computer will also prompt you to restart, press No!

Change the IDE ATA/ATAPI controller and change your computer's IDE controller to a standard dual-channel PCI IDE controller! (Figure)

Change the original controller type to the standard dual-channel PCI IDE controller in the same way as changing the ACPI property. After see

, the computer will also prompt you to restart. Also, do not restart the computer. At this point, the removal of the driver is complete.

The third step is to create an automatic answer file and re-encapsulate the system! The system repackaging tool is included with the Windows XP installation CD! The location is the installation CD directory SUPPORT\\TOOLS\\DEPLOY.CAB file, but please note that this file can only be used to package the Windows XP operating system without the SP1 patch package. To package the Windows XP operating system with the SP1 patch package installed, you need to Download a new version of the package tool Sysprep (http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/tooldep/sp1/wxp/en-us/xpsp1deploytools_en.cab) at the following address. Create a folder named Sysprep in the root directory of the C drive, and extract the DEPLOY.CAB archive file or the downloaded file with Winrar to C:\\Sysprep as shown in the figure.
