"Resurrection" old network card under Win2000

  

The author's IBM 600e laptop is equipped with a network card, model SLP-E036, the network card can not be installed after modifying the Windows2000 system. The author went online to query the driver and found that only the driver under Windows 98. Can't I use a network card under Windows 2000? So I tried to install a compatible network card driver, and the result was successful, and the network card finally got a new life.

The specific steps are as follows:

1. First insert the PCMCIA card, the system will find the new hardware "swcc Ethernet", choose to search for the driver suitable for the user device, specify the online download under Windows 98 The NIC driver, click the "Next" button, the system will display the driver can not install the device, click the "Finish" button.

2. In the device manager, find "swcc Ethernet" with question mark, right click "swcc Eternet", select "Properties", select reinstall device driver, click "Next" button, select display Know the device driver, click the "Next" button, select the network card manufacturer (select "National Semiconductor"), then there will be one more model in the network card model.

3. After selecting this model, “NatSemi-Based NE4100 Infomover Ethernet Adapter”, click “Next” button, the system will prompt not recommend using this driver, ignore the information, continue to click “下下” After the "Step" button, after installing the program, click the "Finish" button. At this time, the NIC of this model is displayed in the NIC option of Device Manager.

At this point, this old network card has finally resurrected under Windows 2000.
