Scanning spyware under Vista

  
        Windows Defender regularly schedules scans to remove malware detected during the scan and scan for spyware that has been installed on your computer. This article describes how to use the software.
Operation Steps
Click “Start” → “Control Panel” → “Security” → “Windows Defender”. As shown in Figure 1 Windows Defender:

In Windows Defender, you can choose to run a "quick scan" or "full system scan" of your computer. If you suspect that spyware has infected a particular area of ​​your computer, you can select only the drives and folders you want to check for a custom scan. As shown in Figure 2 Scan:

run a quick scan

click "Scan" button. If you are prompted for an administrator password, please confirm.
Scan all areas of your computer
Click the "Down Arrow" next to the "Scan" button and then click the "Full Scan" button. If you are prompted for an administrator password, please confirm.
Scan only computer-specific areas (custom scans)
Click the down arrow next to the Scan button and click the Custom Scan button.
"Scan selected drives and folders", then click the "Select" button to select the drive and folder to scan, and then click the "OK" button. If you are prompted for an administrator password, please confirm.
Note: If a potentially unwanted or malware is detected, Windows Defender will run a quick scan so that the detected items are removed from other areas of the computer if needed.
After the test is finished, the window will prompt for a test report. As shown in the test report in Figure 3:
