1. Modify the address bar font

Due to the display resolution setting, the font bar of IE browser is often small, which is very difficult to read. In fact, we can completely use Windows system. Customize the settings to complete.

Right-click on the blank space of the desktop, select the “Properties” command in the pop-up menu, open the “Show Properties” dialog box, select the “Appearance” tab, and then click “&ldquo” ; Advanced & rdquo; button, as shown in Figure 1.

Pop up the "Advanced Properties" dialog box, select the "Icons" option in the "Items" drop-down list box, and then select a favorite font in the "Font" category. For example, "楷体-GB2312", when finished, click the "OK" button, as shown in Figure 2.

2, close the script error prompt

When using IE to browse the webpage, I have encountered Internet Explorer pop up a dialog box prompting you that the script of the webpage has an error, whether you need to continue running, and Give the error script details. This information is useful for website designers, but for most users, this script error message is completely useless, so you can turn off script error prompts in Internet Explorer.

Click on the <quo;Tools" menu in Internet Explorer and select <;Internet Options" In the pop-up dialog box, click the “Advanced” tab and select from the &Browse" & ldquo; prohibit script debugging & rdquo; check, and deselect "Show the notification of each script error" <; check, click the "OK" button to complete, as shown in Figure 3.

This will not pop up a dialog box that doesn't make any sense to ordinary users when there is a script error in the web page.

3, get higher permissions

If you log in to the system users have permission restrictions, then you need to log out when you need to run those programs with higher privileges to run The current user then logs in to the system with a high-privileged user account. We don't need to do this in the professional version of Windows XP. We can use "run mode" to run a single program with a high-rights account.

Right-click on the program icon in "Desktop" or "My Computer", select "Run Mode" in the pop-up menu, pop-up "Run Identity" dialog In the box, select the “Users” box below, and then select the higher-privileged user account in the “User Name” box and enter the corresponding password. Click the “OK” button to confirm the identity. Run the app. As shown in Figure 4

If you want an application to always ask which user to run the prompt when it is running, you can right-click the application icon and select “ from the pop-up menu. Attribute & rdquo; command, then in the pop-up "Properties" dialog box, click the "Advanced" button. Select “Run as a different user> checkbox and click the “OK” button. As shown in Figure 5

The program running on the setup account will pop up the “Run ID” dialog box each time you run this program, asking which user the file will run as.

4, let XP automatically log in

Every time you enter the Windows XP desktop, there will always be a user login screen, asking for a username and password. The advantage of this is that security is guaranteed in an environment where multiple people use a computer. If you are going to let XP automatically log in to a specific account, you can do the following.

Click the “Start” button, select the "Run" command, open the "Run" dialog box, enter the command line "rundll32 netplwiz.dll, usersrundll", click “ ” button, as shown in Figure 6.

Pop-up "User Account" dialog box, deselect "To use this machine, the user must enter the username and password" box, click the "OK" button to complete, as shown 7 is shown.

5, thoroughly cleaned up "Thumbs.db" file

Windows system provides a picture preview function, but also automatically generate a name under the picture folder "Thumbs.db"; The file's capacity increases as the image file increases, but it is automatically generated each time it is deleted.

First of all, you need to turn off the XP system to automatically generate thumbnail function, open the "Control Panel", double-click the "Folder Options" icon, pop-up "Folder Options" dialog box, select “ view & rdquo; tab, select the "Do not cache thumbnails" check box, click the "OK" button to complete the automatic generation of thumbnails, as shown in Figure 8.

After the above settings, the system will not automatically generate the "Thumbs.db" file, then open the Windows Explorer, click the toolbar "Search" button, search for all the current system logic “Thumbs.db” file, and then delete all the files found.

6. Recover corrupted system files

If Windows XP system files are corrupted by viruses or other reasons, we can recover those corrupted files from the Windows XP installation disk.

First, you can search for the corrupted files in the installation disk according to the corrupted file prompts. Note that on the installation CD, the last character of the file name is replaced with the bottom line “_” For example, if you want to search for “Notepad.exe”, you need to search for “Notepad.ex_”.

After finding the missing file, open the command prompt line and enter the command format: “The full path of the EXPAND source file The full path to the target file”. For example: EXPAND D: SETUPNOTEPAD.EX_ C: WindowsNOTEPAD.EXE. One thing to note is that if there are spaces in the path, you need to include the path in double quotes (quotation marks).

If you search on a Windows XP disk, you can't find the file we need. One reason for this is that the file you are looking for is in the "CAB” file. Since Windows XP treats "CAB" as a folder, for Windows XP, just drag and copy the "CAB” file right and copy it to the appropriate directory.

At this point you can enter the command: <;EXTRACT /L target location CAB file full path & rdquo; to decompress, such as: EXTRACT /L C: Windows D: I386Driver.cab Notepad.exe. Of course, as before, as if there are spaces in the path, you need to include the path in double quotes.

Of course, there are many practical tips for Windows XP, so that it can help us solve problems as much as possible, and it is most important to meet everyone's needs. Interested friends may wish to try it!
