Windows 98 implementation with Windows NT 4.0 dual boot skills

Windows 98 has good gaming and entertainment performance to meet the needs of home users, while Windows NT provides excellent security and stable system performance, both of which have their own strengths. Can we achieve the coexistence of Windows 98 and Windows NT 4.0, and achieve dual boot at startup? The answer is yes, the following methods can be used to achieve the goal:

1) Re-partition the system using Windows 98 FDISK and Windows NT as needed, preferably divided into three zones, of which C drive adopts FAT16 mode In order to boot the system and realize the data exchange between Windows 98 and Windows NT, the other two partitions adopt FAT32 and NTFS formats respectively, in order to make full use of the excellent performance of these two disk partitions.

2) Install Windows 98 into a disk partition using FAT32.

3) Switch to the MSDOS state of Windows 98 and then start the Windows NT installer.

4) Install Windows NT into an NTFS disk partition.

5) After both installations are completed, a "OS Loader" prompt dialog will be given when the system starts, and then we can use it to easily between Windows 98 and Windows NT. Switching, very convenient to use.

After installing Windows NT, the default startup project is Windows NT, that is, if the user does not select within 30 seconds, the system will automatically start Windows NT, which may not meet the needs of users. Don't worry, we just need to cancel the system, hidden, read-only properties of the boot.ini file in the root directory of the C drive, and then open the file, which will be "default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition (1) WINNT" is modified to "default =C:". In addition, the default selection time when the system starts is 30 seconds, which seems to be too long, we just need to open the boot.ini file, and then make appropriate changes to "timeout=" (such as changing the default 30 to 10 Etc) can solve the problem.
