WinXP right-click menu to add the "Open with Notepad" option

  
                

There are many formats for files under WinXP. Different types of files have different opening methods. When users want to open files with Notepad, they find that there is no option in the right-click menu to open the ” So how do you add “open with the notepad in the right-click menu of the WinXP system?

Procedure

1, Start - Run - type regedit to open the registry;

2, found on the left; [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \\ SOFTWARE \\ Classes \\ * \\ shell primary key (if not a new one);

3, the primary key click shell; a new primary key named in the notepad; in the right window; the default value is changed to entry; with Notepad opens; or other words you like; then create a new command key under the notepad main key; in the right window; change the value of the default item to; notepad %1 (note that there is a space between the notepad and the % symbol) );

copy the following text into Notepad this save a file extension reg; double-click the reg file into the registry on the OK!

The above is the WinXP right-click menu to join the "Open with the Notepad" method, open the file with Notepad to see the contents of the file, but not all files are suitable for opening with Notepad.
