WinXP uses Chkdsk to detect disk errors in two ways

  
                

I believe many users are unfamiliar with the Chkdsk that comes with the WinXP system. The Chkdsk application is a command-line tool that can be used to check if there is a problem with the volume. With this tool, users also have trouble saving third-party software. But how do you use this tool? The following small series teaches you two ways to use Chkdsk.

Method 1: Run Chkdsk

in "My Computer" or Windows Explorer 1. Double-click to open "My Computer", and then right-click the drive you want to check. the shortcut menu, click & ldquo; properties & rdquo; command;

2, pop & ldquo; local disk properties & rdquo; window, switch to the & ldquo; tools & rdquo; tab, click & ldquo; check wrong & rdquo; in the field & ldquo; start checking & rdquo; button;

3, in & ldquo; check disk & rdquo; dialog & ldquo; check disk options & rdquo; next check & ldquo; automatically fix file System error & rdquo; and & ldquo; scan and try to recover bad sectors & rdquo; check box, and then click & ldquo; start & rdquo; button;
