A solution to the common problems of dot matrix printers

Dot matrix printers use dot matrix strikers in the printhead to strike the ribbon and produce text or graphics on the paper, so we used to call it a dot matrix printer. At present, the 24-pin printer is more common. No matter how many printers are used, the ribbons used are usually monochrome. Of course, some dot matrix printers can print color graphics, but the printing speed is better than the spray. The ink printer is slow, and the precision is low, and the noise is also large. In summary, the dot matrix printer has been eliminated in the middle and high-end home printer market — — after all, it can not print high-quality color pictures, but it is Office areas (such as business, telecommunications post, government tax and business, public security traffic and education) and many PC users who are not very high income (almost all my relatives and friends belong to this category ^_^) but have Irreplaceable status.

Since dot matrix printers are so important and widely used in companies, perhaps you are also One of the people who use it every day, if there is a sudden failure and is eager to use, what should I do? So for the paper jam, according to my experience, there is no sign that the paper can not come out, most dot matrix printers are Suddenly a paper jam occurred. A typical jam is a small paper card under the roller or under the tractor feed. Because the rollers are easy to roll, you can easily clip the paper out with a paper clip or similar tool.

You can often see the printer's "paper" phenomenon. A large piece of paper was blocked in the roller and rolled into a ball, and the other paper could not be fed smoothly. When printing labels, the printed labels are sometimes detached from the back and attached to the rollers.

This type of paper jam can also occur when the printer feeds paper. Sometimes it happens only by chance, but most of the time is caused by mechanical failure. Try taking the paper out and pressing the paper change button for a few minutes. Look at the normal operation of the tractor feed, whether it is running synchronously. Some printers use straps to work on the tractor feed, but after prolonged use, the straps are worn, worn, or deflected.

White lines appear when typing text or pictures

The second type of failure that can occur with dot matrix printers is the horizontal white line that appears during text or image printing. This usually means that there is a problem with the printhead. Usually the print head has a broken needle. It is recommended that you look at the data strip of the printhead - not the print ribbon - whether it is tightly connected to the printhead. If this is not a problem, clean the printhead with alcohol. Sometimes there are things left in the print that cause the print needle to malfunction. If this doesn't solve the problem, then only change the print head.

The printer is working properly but the printing on the paper is empty

If a dot matrix printer is operating normally, but does not print anything on the paper after feeding, it is generally printed. The belt is used up or falling off. If there is no problem with the print ribbon, look at the situation when printing. At the print volume, the print head will be tapped down on the print ribbon, and as the print head moves, the print ribbon will move to the same position. If you do not follow this situation, then the print ribbon may not be installed correctly.

Printing garbled characters

If the printer prints garbled characters, try printing some simple text files. If you can print a plain text file with a blank line between each line of words, check the printer's dip switch, which manages carriage return and line feed (CR/LF). Tighten it to correct this problem.

If this still doesn't solve the problem, then there may be several reasons - the biggest possibility is that there is a problem with the printer driver. For example, some people want to use the laser printer driver on the dot matrix printer, and garbled when printing. Almost everything printed will be garbled before you turn off the printer and restart the driver.

If the printer's print cable is too loose, too long, or has other problems, it will cause garbled printing. Try changing a print cable.

If none of the above methods can solve the garbled problem, then try to perform a full print test from the printer (not from the computer). If the printer's self-printing test is still garbled, it is estimated that the printer's system board is broken. Previous12Next page Total 2 pages
