It's easy to underline characters in Word, but it's not so convenient to add a dash. At some point, we really need to add a dash to the specified character. For example, in the mathematics document, you need to enter the mathematical symbol of the average number, which is to add a short line to the specified variable. So, at this moment, what should we do? The following small tricks may help you, that is, borrowing Word's “Pinyin Guide” function indirectly.

Select the text to be overlined, and then select “Format → Chinese Layout & Rarr; Pinyin Guide & rdquo; menu command to open the “ Pinyin Guide & rdquo; dialog box. Then the selected text will appear in the “Base Text” column, click the “Combine” button, and then enter the Chinese dash equal to the selected number of characters in the “Pinyin text” column (pictured). . Here, we can also set the alignment and offset of pinyin and text. You can see the display effect in the "Preview” box. Finally, click the “OK" button and the overline of the selected text is added.

Do you know? In fact, this overline can also be solved by using the method of inserting symbols. Click the "symbol" button in the ribbon"> tab" "symbol" function group, and click the “other symbols” command in the pop-up menu to open the “symbol” dialog box. Click the “symbol” tab, set “font" for “Symbol”, then find the short underline in the list of symbols below, as shown in Figure 7 (in front of the Greek alphabet Alpha). After selecting this symbol, click the “insert” button to get the effect shown by the symbol in front of the dialog box in Figure 7.
