Put Windows XP into memory

Memory is rarely less than 2GB, there are many friends who configure 4GB of memory. The memory of such a large capacity is absolutely inexhaustible in the daily operation of the computer. At present, the biggest bottleneck that restricts the performance of the system is the transmission speed of the hard disk. Therefore, here is how to put the XP system into the memory, and the performance suddenly kills the SSD.

Step 1: Install and streamline XP system

first XP system image backup GHO format had long been restored to the C drive, then the system is being properly streamlined, for example, will remove junk files Transfer virtual memory to the D drive or other partition, shut down the system, and so on. After the streamlined XP system, its volume should not exceed 1GB.

Step 2: Install firadisk

first need to download an edited "memory version XP", a specific download address you use a search engine can find. Extract the downloaded "Memory version XP.RAR" to the root directory of the E drive and open the "firadisk" folder under the "E: Memory Edition XP" directory, then right click on "firadisk.inf" under the folder and select "Install", complete the installation of firadisk and follow the prompts to restart the system; then right click on the "My Computer" icon on the desktop, select "Manage", open the "System Tools → Device Manager" branch of "Computer Management", at this time In the display area on the right, you can see a device called "Firadisk Vitrual Disk Enumerator", which means that the firadisk is already installed.

Step 3: Create IMG format virtual partition and format the file

run: under "E memory version of XP" directory "VDM" folder "VDM1 .EXE", then in the main interface, click the menu "File → Create" command to bring up the "Create Image File" dialog box, then click the "Browse" button in the dialog box, specify to create a name called "RamDiskXP .IMG" image file is saved to the root directory of the D drive; then the size of the image file is 1024MB; finally click the "OK" button, wait a moment, create a name called "RamDiskXP" in the root directory of the D drive .IMG" image file. After

done, return to the main interface VDM virtual drive, click "File → Load", the virtual disk file you just created is loaded, and then assign a drive letter Z, Finally, right click on the Z disk in the "My Computer" window, select "Format" and format it as an NTFS partition.

Tips: The name and location to save the image file IMG format that we created, since we do not recommend making changes, such as unpredictable unknown can be avoided in the process of making memory appear in the version of XP error.

Step Four: Modify the registry and boot.ini

Open the Registry Editor and navigate to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MacHINESYSTEM" branch, and then delete this registry branch called "MountedDevices" registry Table entry, so that after logging in to the memory version of XP, the drive letter of the virtual disk will automatically become "C:"; then open the system configuration file boot.ini in the root directory of the C drive, and add the statement at the end of the file. C: grldr = "grub4do menu" and save the changes made to the file on it

Tips: By default, the file boot.ini has the read-only attribute, modify it in before the need to remove the read-only attribute of the file

step 5: copy the system files and installed in addition to "RECYCLER", "pagefile under grub4DOS

first C drive All files except .sys" and "System Volume Infor-mation" are copied to the root directory of the Z drive, and then all the files in the "grub4DOS" folder under the "E: Memory Edition XP" directory are copied to the C drive. directory and reboot the system.

In the same way, in the system startup menu that appears, select "grub4do menu", you can see the corresponding submenu, select the "start memory version XP" and you can successfully log in the memory version of XP. In the memory version in XP, open the "computer management" disk management component, you can see the size of the system added a 1GB disk, which is the virtual memory disk

Tips: Log After the memory version of XP, if you use the hard disk version of XP for the first time in the future, you must select the "Start hard disk version XP" of the startup interface.
