Windows XP how to cancel the D disk auto play

I recently encountered such a thing, in the Windows XP operating system double-click can not open the D drive, a dialog box appears, asking Windows system can not find Pagefile.pif (Figure 1 ), and there is an additional "auto play" function in the right-click menu (Figure 2). Although this thing does not cause harm to the system, it is also very troublesome to use. Must be given a cancellation.

I tried a lot of methods, and the author finally found a way to solve this problem.
Enter "regedit" in "Run" to open the Registry Editor, use the "Find" function in the registry to find "AutoPlay"... Find out "autorun=Autoplay", "open=Pagefile.pif" ", STARTUPIMAGEDIRECTORY=D\\auto play (Figure 3), "icon=Fwrite.ico" and other key values, the author deleted one by one. Found an "autorun.inf" file in the root directory of the D drive. Opening the content inside is exactly what I want to delete! I deleted it together. Ok, restart the computer, you're done, all the problems are solved.

Tip: What is Autorun.inf
Autorun.inf A textual configuration file that we can edit with text editing software, it can only be located in the root directory of the drive . This file contains commands that need to be run automatically, such as changed drive icons, running program files, optional shortcut menus, and more.
In fact, most users don't need the AutoRun.inf file to run the program, so we can completely turn off the AutoRun function of the hard disk, so even if there is AutoRun.inf file in the root directory of the hard disk, Windows does not. Will run the program specified in it, so the hacker may use the AutoRun.inf file to achieve the purpose of the invasion.
How to disable the AutoRun function of the CD?
It is very simple, that is, set DRIVE_CDROM to 1, so that the first value in the "No Drive TypeAutoRun" key value becomes 10110101, which is B5 in hexadecimal. . After changing the first value to B5, close the registry editor and restart the computer to turn off the Autorun function of the CDROM. If you only want to disable the AutoRun function of the software CD, but retain the automatic playback capability of the CD audio disc, you only need to change the key value of "No Drive Type AutoRun" to: BD, 00, 00, 00. If you want to restore the AutoRun function of the hard disk or CD-ROM drive, you can do it in the opposite direction.
Note: The above problem may also be caused by a virus, so I suggest that you first perform a comprehensive virus scan on the system under "Safe Mode" and then use the above method to solve the problem.
