How to improve the running speed of Windows XP system

When it comes to Windows XP, many people may think that it is just an operating system that a highly configured computer can enjoy. Why is Windows XP consuming resources? In addition to the beautiful interface that consumes a lot of memory and video memory, like Windows 2000, Windows XP runs many different services in the background by default, like printer service, system automatic update service, etc., a considerable part of these services are for our individual users. It is said that it has no effect, and there are also great hidden dangers in terms of security. Therefore, it is very necessary to properly disable some system services not only to speed up the system but also to play a security role. How to set up the service
First you need to use the Administrator user to log in to WindowsXP, because only the administrator can have the right to change the service, then select "Administrative Tools→Services" in the "Control Panel", or enter "Run" directly Services.msc" opens the service settings window. On the right side of the window is displayed all the service items in the Windows
XP system. Each service is marked with the name, description, status, startup type and login nature (Figure 1). .

Select the service to be forbidden, right click on it and select "Properties" to open the service settings window. There are three startup modes in the "Startup Type", namely automatic, manual and Disabled (Figure 2), the effect of the three startup methods is different.
Figure 2

Automatic: If a service is set to automatic, it will run with Windows XP, which will increase the time required for startup, but some services must be set to Automatic, because these services are closely related to the system, if set to other startup methods, the system will have problems, so it is best not to move them.
Manual: If a service is set to manual, the service will not start and will only be started when it is needed. This will save a lot of system resources.
Disabled: If a service is set to disabled, it means that the service will no longer be started, even if it is needed, it will not start if you think a service is really useless. Yes, you can choose it.
Which services should be banned In many services, you may be a bit confused. How do I know which services should be reserved for which services? Oh, in fact, it is not difficult, each service has a simple description, by description you can roughly determine whether the service is needed. Schedules are services that can be turned off or disabled, and you can selectively turn them off.
Recovery error operation
If you accidentally set a service to "disabled", the system will not work properly, and you can't modify it from the service window or running Services.msc, then the only solution The way is to modify the registry, find the "HKEY_LOCAL_MacHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServices" key value, under which all the services exist in the system, find the problem of the service, on the right you will see a binary value "Start", modify its numerical value is the same You can change how it is started, "2" for automatic, "3" for manual, and "4" for disabled.
