In the computer, system resources include interrupt request (IRQ) lines, direct memory storage (DMA) channels, input /output (I /O) ports and memory addresses. When the same system resource is assigned to two or more devices, a hardware conflict occurs and the conflicting hardware device will not work properly. The following methods can help you resolve hardware conflicts. First, make sure that the device driver is installed only once.
1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click System. 2. Click the Device Manager tab and look for duplicate devices. 3. If a device appears twice and only one of these devices is actually installed, delete the device that appears each time by right-clicking the device that appears repeatedly, and then clicking Remove ( Figure 1) wyjc1.tif.
4. Reinstall the driver for the device.

Second, view the resource settings

ensure that the equipment on the "Device Manager" tab appears only once, please check its resource settings: In the "System Properties" and "Device Manager On the tab, double-click the conflicting device, and then click the Resources tab to verify that you are viewing the correct device resource settings (Figure 2) wyjc2.tif. If the Resources tab does not appear, the device is not using any resources.
Third, is there a hardware conflict of type "system reservation"?

If the "Resources" tab displays the "Manually Configure Configuration" button, there is a conflict or other problem with the device, it has been disabled; or the resource settings used by the device work, but do not match any known Configuration. If you see the Resource Settings box on the Resources tab, determine if there is a hardware conflict of type "System Reserved": On the Device Manager tab of System Properties, double-click the conflicting device. Then on the Resources tab, look at the list of conflicting devices. If there are no conflicts listed under Conflicting Device List, there is no hardware conflict for the device being viewed. At this point, you can restart your computer so that Windows can reconfigure the hardware. Sometimes, even if the resources used by a particular device conflict with the reserved resources of the computer, this conflict is likely to be no problem. If there are no other issues, you can ignore this resource conflict. If the conflict causes the device to be in use, continue with the workaround below.

four, one or more devices arranged, so that the use of different resources

3. Scroll through the available resource settings and read the "conflict information" of various settings. If you find that a setting does not conflict with some other device, leave the selected setting in the Value box, click OK, click OK again, close the System Properties dialog box, and restart Start your computer.

You may need to adjust the jumpers on the hardware card to meet the new settings; you may need to run the configuration utility provided by the hardware vendor, depending on the type of hardware. If the jumper settings on the card are incorrect, the hardware will still not work after the conflict is resolved.

V. release the reserved resource settings

if the "conflicting information" displays all settings conflict with another device, please keep clicking "Cancel" to close the "System Properties" dialog box, and then To release reserved resource settings:

1. On the Device Manager tab of System Properties, double-click Computer.

2. Click "Reserve Resources" tab, resource type (Figure 3) Click conflict wyjc3.tif, if a resource settings have been retained, then any system equipment Can't use it. The reserved resource settings are listed in the Settings box. If this box is empty, the settings for this type are not currently reserved.

disable the device is no longer needed if one of the conflicting devices are no longer needed, it can be disabled to resolve a hardware conflict. If Plug and Play devices are disabled, other devices can automatically obtain resources for those devices. If the disabled device is not Plug and Play, you must remove the device from the Device Management hardware list and remove it from your computer to free up the resources it occupies. Therefore, before disabling a device that is no longer needed, you should determine if the device is "plug and play."

(a) to determine the device "plug and play":

1. On the "System Properties" and "Device Manager" tab, double-click to disable the device.

2. On the Resources tab, look for the Manually Configure Configuration button. If this button appears, the device is "plug and play".

3. Click "OK" to return to the "Device Manager" tab.
(b) disable the "plug and play" device:

1. On the "Device Manager" tab, double-click the device.

2. Under "Device Usage", click to select the "Disable in this hardware profile" checkbox (Figure 4) wyjc4.tif, click "OK", then again Click "OK".

3. If you are prompted to restart the computer, restart. If you are not prompted to restart your computer, click OK, close the System Properties dialog box, and restart your computer.

(3) Disable non-Plug and Play devices:

1. On the Device Manager tab, click the device you want to disable, and then click Remove. .

2. Click "OK".

3. Restart your computer.

After the above six steps, I believe that the hardware conflict in your computer system has been resolved!
