The Ghost

Ghost can also be played under Windows. It has brought us a lot of convenience. In addition to the backup and recovery system, it has many convenient and practical uses. However, in the face of the full screen of English to operate, it is indeed a bit uneasy, a little careless will cause irreparable damage! Use GhostGo as soon as possible. It converts the operation of English Ghost under DOS to the familiar Windows Chinese environment. Set up each task to be performed in detail: backup system, recovery system, copy hard disk, copy partition, and so on. The task settings are also extremely simple, all you have to do is just a few mouse clicks. GhostGo supports FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS partitions and supports multiple hard disk systems. The new Auto Setup feature automatically identifies partition locations, formats, and capacities, automatically creating backup and recovery tasks, allowing you to make and restore system backups faster and safer for your current computer. When using GhostGo for the first time, you need to determine the Ghost installation directory in order to use GhostGo normally. There are six options on the main interface of GhostGo (see Figure 1). Automatic setting The automatic setting is relatively simple (Figure 2), select the partition to be backed up and where to store the backup file. After clicking “Next”, it will automatically determine the partition format and partition location. If the partition to be backed up has more space than the partition remaining to save the backup file, it will give a prompt. Tip: This feature only supports single hard disk systems. Please do not use this function on multiple hard disk systems. Detailed settings
In the detailed settings, copy the hard disk, copy the partition, make the image file and restore the image file (Figure 3), the whole step is the Chinese interface, you can follow the above tips. And you can also compress the image file to save disk space. If there is something important in the created image, we can also encrypt the image so that only the password can be used for image recovery (Figure 4). If the image file created is too large, we can also split the image file (Figure 5) so that the image file can be saved separately. We can also set some specific parameters of Ghost, such as shielding some errors, so as to better image production. Finally, after choosing to complete the data backup, return to the DOS interface or restart the computer, you can choose according to your actual needs. After you have chosen, put the floppy disk in the floppy drive, and then click the "OK" button, so GhostGo will automatically create the boot disk. After the task is set up, create the task to a floppy disk, folder or CD. Use it to boot the system. After the Chinese task information appears, press the “Y” key, and the system will automatically execute according to our settings. Task Template
If you feel that the detailed settings are troublesome, you can also use the "Task Template" function (Figure 6) to quickly create a pre-set task. And you can also send the created template to a friend, the other party can automatically operate by simply selecting the template, which is very simple. The extension of the task template file is GGT, and all task template files are saved in the TEMPLATE folder in the GhostGo running directory. After selecting the task template, it will prompt you to modify the task template to meet your requirements. If you do not need to modify, select "No" to create directly. If you need to modify, select "Yes" to enter the detailed settings page of this task template, and then down the operation is just like the "detailed settings" function. Adding pure DOS boot function for Windows 2000/XP/2003 Many times, we still need to boot to DOS mode at boot time, but Windows 2000/XP/2003 and other operating systems do not support DOS boot mode. We can use the "virtual floppy disk" feature to add a pure DOS boot mode to these operating systems. Select the "virtual floppy disk" option, and then click "Next" (Figure 7), adjust the system boot menu waiting for the selected time, select the system boot information file to be configured (if the file does not exist, you can not create a virtual floppy disk, right For XP, it is C:\\BOOT.ini), and then choose to save the virtual floppy disk file to the hard disk. Finally click "Next" to start creating a virtual floppy disk. In the future system boot menu displayed when the computer starts up, there will be a "Start GhostGo Virtual Floppy Disk" item. Select it to boot to the DOS system. Tip: If you select the "Boosing from the boot menu" option from the boot menu, you can boot the system from the CD without changing the BiOS settings. Of course, the same as the "virtual floppy disk", it is also selected in the boot menu. To remove these boot functions, simply select "Delete virtual floppy function" or "Delete boot from CD".
