Xp Tips to Repair Lost BOOT.ini File

When using a computer, we often use some modification software to optimize XP startup speed. These softwares will modify your registry without exception, and even modify the system to dual system users. The startup file caused the dual system boot file BOOT.ini to be lost. When BOOT.ini is lost, we must build another BOOT.ini to restore the system startup.

boot.ini is a system file that needs to be queried when the system starts. It tells the startup program that the computer has several operating systems and where the location of each system is. To restore it, click the "Start" menu, point to "Programs → Accessories → Notepad", open "Notepad", and type in the notebook:

[boot loader]
timeout =10
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\\Windows
[Operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1 )\\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows 98" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\\WINNT="Microsoft Windows XP" /fastdetect

Then save it as a file named boot.ini, and store this file in the root directory of the C drive.
Tip: For dual system users, it is best to carefully optimize the xp boot option to avoid unnecessary trouble.
