Customize file thumbnail size in XP

        In Windows XP/2003, the system provides us with a more intuitive way to display files - thumbnails, in which the abbreviations of images, text type files, etc. replace the icon of the file, so that It's very convenient to see the general content without opening the file. But this approach also takes up a lot of system resources. If your computer performance is not very powerful, you can adjust the size and quality of the thumbnails by modifying the registry to adjust the occupancy of system resources:

Click "Start → Run" and enter "Regedit" "Enter the registry editor, press the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer] branch, or the [HKEY_LOCAL_MacHINE\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer] branch, or find it in the right window. Create the following registry key of type [REG_DWord]:

ThumbnailSize: This parameter is used to control the size of the thumbnail. The default is 96 (in bytes);

ThumbnailQuality: This parameter is used to Controls the display quality of thumbnails. The default value is 90 (in percentage).

We can adjust these parameters as needed. After the modification, exit the registry editor and restart the computer to take effect.
