Replace the startup screen with the BootSkin file

After the software installation is completed, the program shortcut folder in the “Start” menu will open, click the BootSkin shortcut to run the software (as shown in Figure 1). The list shows the startup screen that comes with the software, including the software logo, the software development company logo (that is, the Stardock Blue item, users who have used WindowBlinds, WindowFX software will not be unfamiliar) and so on.

Download more cool splash screen files. Most of the files provided by the website are around 7KB to 100KB, which is small enough compared to Style XP. The downloaded files are all suffixed with bootskin. You can double-click to run the BootSkin program. Of course, we can also import the bootskin file by clicking the menu "File→Import from file" in the BootSkin program.

Select a startup screen item in the list, click the “PrevIEw” button to open another window to preview the startup screen effect (as shown in Figure 2), press any key on the keyboard or click in the window The preview window can be closed. Do it yourself? Don't worry, in fact, after the software imports the bootskin file, it will generate a new folder (the name is the bootskin file name used in the "Skin" directory of the software installation directory), the bitmap file and the bookskin.ini configuration file contained in the folder. (As shown in Figure 3). Open the bookskin.ini configuration file and study it in a very simple format:

Figure 3 is now very simple to make. Create a new folder, copy a 640 × 480 pixel 16-color bitmap file as a background image and a 22 × 9 pixel bitmap file as a scroll bar image (usually a button), then copy from other Skin folder The bookskin.ini file is opened and saved as described above.

Re-run the software, you can see the splash screen file you just made from the list (Figure 1). We can also package the splash screen we created into a bootskin file upload and release by clicking the menu "File→Export selected skin to file" to save the selected items in the list as bookskin file.
