WIN XP installation software garbled solution

Q: My operating system is Chinese Windows XP, due to work needs to use the Japanese version of the software often, change the "Control Panel → Regional and Language Options → Advanced → The setting of the language of non-Unicode programs is too much trouble, so Microsoft AppLocale was installed some time ago. However, since the installation of this software, many software installation interfaces (InstallShield installation interface) will appear garbled, showing unreadable Japanese pseudonyms, how should I solve?

A: There is good news, you can solve the problem without uninstalling Microsoft AppLocale. Delete the AppLoc.tmp file in the WINDOWS\\AppPatch directory under the system disk, and the problem can be solved. AppLocale will generate this file every time it is used. In order to avoid similar failures in the future, you can manually create an empty file named AppLoc.tmp in this directory, and then set its file property to "Read Only".
