Free to make a universal clone version of Windows XP system (5)

When Windows 98 is installed on the C drive in the system, and you want to install Windows XP clone to D drive, you can select "Recover D drive from CD" in the menu after booting the CD. However, after the recovery, the Windows 98 and Windows XP dual boot menu will not appear. At this time, you can install the OSLoader software and modify the contents of the "boot.ini" file as follows:

[boot loader] timeout =30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional " /fastdetect C:\\="Microsoft Windows 98"

2. Correctly select the power management mode

Because the power management mode selection tool is added to the system, when the system is restored and restarted A prompt box (see Figure 7) will appear, allowing you to select the appropriate power management mode. Below the window you will be prompted for the machine type for each option. In general, there are three most common power management modes:

For most mainstream computers, you can select the "Advanced Configuration Power Interface (ACPI) PC" mode.

If the computer to be restored is an old machine of the PII350 or lower grade, ACPI power management is generally not used, and the "Standard PC" mode should be selected.

If it is a hyper-threaded P4 level computer, you should select the "ACPI Uniprocessor PC" mode.

Other types of computers with multi-processors can refer to the prompts in the software. If the wrong mode is selected, it may cause the system to start blue screen. At this time, you can use Ghost to restore and then select the correct one again. The mode is OK.

Tips for making universal clones

1. Using CD-ROM for cloning recovery, the speed will be very slow, so if you are recovering a large number of machines in a fixed place, it is recommended to copy the image file. Go to the hard drive and restore it again, which will increase the recovery speed several times.

2. Bypassing the class, you can also use this method to make a universal clone of Windows 98 or Windows 2000. For Windows 98 clones, change the IDE ATA/ATAPI controller directly and remove the various drivers. Generally, no other settings are needed, but since Windows 98 is not very stable even when manually installed, the universal clone effect is not very satisfactory.

The universal clone of Windows 2000 is very advantageous. It has stable features and does not require activation. However, because Windows 2000 is not very suitable for individual users, its ability to automatically recognize and install hardware drivers is also More limited, you can test it yourself, but to make Windows 2000 universal clones best use Windows 2000 Sysprep version 1.1 (click to download).

3. Because the software is frequently upgraded, some common software can be made into "green" before burning. For example, QQ, Foxmail, etc. can be made into green software. For details, please refer to the previous article of this journal. Then use the Ghost Explorer tool (click to download) to open the GHO image file directly for modification. Of course, this method is only applicable to "green software". Other complicated upgrades involving the registry are recommended to be re-created.

4. Finally, I want to remind everyone that the universal clone system made by this method can adapt to almost all the current computers, including Intel, VIA, SiS and other motherboards of different chipsets, but it is not guaranteed at all. The computer can recover normally. Of course, if you can do universal cloning, I am afraid that Microsoft's next software distribution method will be modified ^O^.

Xiaobian has something to say: Finally, I want to remind you of three things: First, re-GHO system, after restarting, don't forget to install the corresponding driver; secondly, if you are making it locally This GHO file, after restarting, needs to reinstall the Windows XP driver, so it is recommended that you finish the production on the virtual machine; finally, the ACPI program will only run once at boot time, so don't worry about it every time. Both started the problem.
