Win2000/XP Task Manager can be personalized

  
                              

Type "Taskmgr.exe" in "Start → Run" or press "Ctrl+Alt+Del" to enter the "Windows Task Manager", which provides information about the programs and processes that are running. You can monitor computer performance, view network status, and more. Have you ever thought about personalizing it? The following uses Windows XP as an example.

I. Using my own functions

1. Overall personalization

1Display mode

Select "Options→Front display" to make the window total It is displayed at the front end; select "Options → Hide when minimized", the task manager will be displayed in the system tray when it is minimized.

2 Display Speed

Select “View → Update Speed” to set the information refresh rate, “High” means refresh twice in one second; “Standard” means refresh in two seconds. "Low" means refreshing once every four seconds; "Pause" means not automatically refreshing.

2. Personalization of Tabs

1 "Applications" Tab

In this tab, you can set the view view according to your personal preferences, such as "Large icon".

2 "Process" Tab

Click "View → Select Column" in this tab to set the column to be displayed. Click the column heading to sort the displayed processes. Right-click on any process (except "System Idle Process") and select "Set Priority" to set the priority of the process.

3 "Performance" tab

Click "View → Show Kernel Time" in this tab to display the running status of the kernel (red line); double-click this tab to enter the details View, double click again to reply (this method is also suitable for other tabs).

4 "Networking" Tab

The "Network" tab is displayed only when a network card is installed in the system. You can display all data passed through the network adapter via "Options → Show Cumulative Data"; you can view the number of bytes sent, received, and total by "View → NIC History". Display options can be set via View → Select Columns.

5 "Users" tab

Only when the "Fast User Switching" function is enabled on the computer (check "Control Panel → User Accounts → Change User Login or Logout Mode") The User tab appears when you use Fast User Switching and is a member of a team or a stand-alone computer, and the User tab is not available for computers that are members of a network domain. We can set the information to display by "View → Select Columns". Select a user and send a message to this user via Send Message.

Second, the use of third-party tools

Use OptiX IV V1.11 (Win 9x/NT/2000/XP) to control the system in full, can display all the modules used by the program; When uninstalling the program, OptiX will monitor the entire process; you can also free the memory by optimizing the swap file.

In order to make up for the lack of system monitoring tools such as Win NT/2000/XP platform on Win9x/Me platform, friends can directly download Windows Task Manager V2.3, or use aTaskManager Task Manager V1. 0 (Win 9x/Me), the latter is a performance monitoring and adjustment software, similar in appearance to the task manager, can provide CPU and memory usage efficiency map, detailed information of each process, perfect process adjustment operation, and Realize computer lock, quick takeover and other functions.
