2, close the script error prompt

When using IE to browse the web, I have encountered Internet Explorer pop up a dialog box prompting you that the script of the web page is wrong, need to continue Run while giving the details of the error script. This information is useful for website designers, but for most users, this script error message is completely useless, so you can turn off script error prompts in Internet Explorer.

Click on the "Tools" menu in Internet Explorer, then select "Internet Options" in the pop-up dialog box, click the "Advanced" tab, select the "Block script debugging" option in the "Browse" option. At the same time, deselect the "Show notification of each script error" option, click the "OK" button to complete, as shown in Figure 3. Never pop up a dialog box that has no meaning for the average user when

so pages later there is a script error.

3, get higher privileges

If you log in to the system users have permission restrictions, then you need to log out when you need to run those programs with higher privileges to run The current user then logs in to the system with a high-privileged user account. We don't need to do this in the professional version of Windows XP. We can use "Run Mode" to run a single program with a high-rights account.

Right click on the program icon in "Desktop" or "My Computer", select "Run Mode" command in the pop-up menu, pop up "Run Identity" dialog box, select "The following users" list Select the box, then select the higher-privileged user account in the User Name list box, enter the corresponding password, and click the OK button to run the application as this. As shown in Figure 4

If you want an application to always ask which user to run the prompt when running, you can right-click the application icon in the pop-up menu. Select the "Properties" command, then in the "Properties" dialog that pops up, click the "Advanced" button. Select the "Run as a different user" checkbox and click the "OK" button.

program was set up to run the account as shown in Figure 5, when each time you run the program will pop up the "Run As" dialog box will ask the user identity to which this document will run.
4, let XP automatically log in

Each time you enter the Windows XP desktop, there will always be a user login screen, asking for a username and password. The advantage of this is that security is guaranteed in an environment where multiple people use a computer. If you are going to let XP automatically log in to a specific account, you can do the following.

Click the "Start" button, select the "Run" command, open the "Run" dialog box, enter the command line "rundll32 netplwiz.dll, usersrundll", click the "OK" button, as shown in Figure 6. .

The "User Account" dialog box pops up, deselect the "To use this machine, the user must enter the user name and password" check box, click the "OK" button to complete, as shown in Figure 7. .

5, thoroughly clean up "Thumbs.db" file

Windows system provides image preview function, but at the same time automatically generate a file called "Thumbs.db" is also under Pictures folder The capacity of this file increases as the number of image files increases, but it is automatically generated each time it is deleted.

Firstly, you need to turn off the XP system to automatically generate thumbnail function, open the "Control Panel", double-click the "Folder Options" icon, pop up the "Folder Options" dialog box, select the "View" tab, select "No" Cache thumbnails check box, click the "OK" button to complete the automatic generation of thumbnails, as shown in Figure 8.

After the above settings, the system will not automatically generate the "Thumbs.db" file, then open the Windows Explorer, click the toolbar "Search" button, search for all the "Thumbs." Db" file, and then delete all the files found.

6, restore the damaged system files

If the Windows XP system files are corrupted by viruses or other reasons, we can recover those broken from the Windows XP installation disk document.

First, you can search for the corrupted files in the installation disk according to the corrupted file prompts. Note that in the installation CD, the last character of the file name is replaced with the bottom line "_", for example: For example, to search for "Notepad.exe", you need to search for "Notepad.ex_".

After finding the missing file, open the command prompt line and enter the command format: "Full path of the EXPAND source file. Full path to the target file". For example: EXPAND D: SETUPNOTEPAD.EX_ C: WindowsNOTEPAD.EXE. One thing to note is that if there are spaces in the path, you need to include the path in double quotes (quotation marks).

If you search on a Windows XP disk, you can't find the file we need. One reason for this is that the file you are looking for is in the "CAB" file. Since Windows XP treats "CAB" as a folder, for Windows XP, just drag and drop the "CAB" file to the appropriate directory.

At this point, you can enter the command: "EXTRACT /L target location full path of the CAB file" to extract, such as: EXTRACT /L C: Windows D: I386Driver.cab Notepad.exe. Of course, as before, as if there are spaces in the path, you need to include the path in double quotes.
