Faced with a large amount of information resources on the Internet today, to gain more knowledge in a limited time, we must improve our reading speed. But we have long been accustomed to the traditional verbatim, word-by-word, and sentence-by-sentence reading methods. What effective methods should we adopt to improve our reading speed in the short term? The eye scan training mode and central text mode provided by AceReader can “force” users to speed up reading.

First, load the reading object

First, we click on the "File→Load file" on the AceReader program menu, open the pre-read file in the pop-up dialog box, the program supports TXT and STY File two formats. Also, if you want to load the contents of the clipboard, select "File→Load Clipboard".

Second, the option settings

Click the menu "Options" (as shown), in the lower menu, select "Set Font" item, you can set the font; select "Set Background Color" item , you can set the font color; if you select "Center Text Mode", it means to train in the center text mode; if you select "Eye Trainer Scroll Mode", it means to train in the eye scan mode. Below, we will introduce the two modes separately.

1. Center Text Mode

Click the play button in the main interface control panel, the specified text content will be displayed line by line. The center of the view. However, the author feels that the default reading speed is too fast, and the friend who first touched this reading method is afraid that it is difficult to adapt.

Click on the menu "Options→Fine Tune Speed" and drag the slider to adjust the speed in the pop-up dialog. If you want to cycle through, click on the "Repeat" button.

2. Eye Scan Training Mode

When you select the eye scan training mode, the program will pop up a dialog box asking the user whether to use the recommended option for this mode.

It is recommended that you confirm this operation, and then the program will automatically adjust to the viewing interface suitable for the eye scan training mode. Thereafter, the reading operation can be performed as described above. In this mode, text is wrapped around the display area, forcing your eyes to move like normal reading.

After a period of training, if you feel that reading speed has improved considerably, you can test the results in the AceReader program. But the premise is to have a certain English foundation. By clicking on the menu "Test→Take Test", the user name is set in the pop-up dialog box and the story and reading level are selected. When you read the story through the specified pattern, the program will ask you a few questions to determine if you really understand what it means.
