Manually set the number of files that IE7 downloads at the same time

In the default setting of IE7 (Internet Explorer 7.0), the number of files allowed to be downloaded at the same time (from the same server) is limited to two. Technically, this can effectively ensure the availability of the network without being File downloads take up all bandwidth and affect other applications. However, for users who need to download frequently through the browser - not using third-party download tools such as FlashGet, etc., there are some limitations in use: they have to wait until the first two downloads in the download queue are completed. In order to start a new download.

To solve this problem, you can modify the default limit of IE7 to only download 2 files at the same time by simple setting, for example, set it to 5. - Of course, it doesn't make sense to set it too large. After all, network bandwidth is limited.

Set the number of files that IE7 downloads at the same time

Enter "Regedit" in the search box of the start menu to open the registry editor;

Windows Vista will pop up the corresponding UAC Prompt window, enter the administrator password or confirm;

Locate the following registry branch:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindows CurrentVersionInternet Settings

Locate the registry key named "MaxConnectionsPerServer" and put it Change the value to 5 (or other numbers greater than 2). If the item does not exist, it is created with the type DWORD (32-bit);

Find the registry key named "MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server" and change its value to 5 (or other numbers greater than 2). If the item does not exist, it is created with type DWORD (32-bit);

Restart Windows Vista;

This will change the number of files that IE7 can simultaneously download from the same server to 5 (or other numbers you enter).

By convention, Vista World also provides our modified registry for friends who are not familiar with the registry operation. You only need to download, unzip, and double-click to import it.
