EasyBoot Chinese boot CD production tutorial

The original system installation disk can only be used for initial installation of a single system, lack of hard disk partition (except Windows XP), system recovery and other tools. This article will introduce a powerful tool - EasyBoot. EasyBoot, which can make a full Chinese CD boot menu, automatically generate boot files, and create bootable ISO files. The software has a built-in boot file for Windows 98/2000/XP. We can use the burning software to create a boot CD that is completely your own.
First, make Windows XP boot CD

1. Prepare the file

(1) Copy the i386 directory under the root directory of the Windows XP installation CD to C:\\EasyBoot\\disk1;

C:\\EasyBoot\\disk1\\i386\\bootfix.bin< BR>C:\\EasyBoot\\disk1\\i386\\setupldr.bin
C:\\EasyBoot\\disk1\\win51
C:\\EasyBoot\\disk1\\win51ic (or C:\\EasyBoot\\disk_xp\\win51ip)

2. Making Chinese Startup Menu
Two windows will appear when running EasyBoot, and the control window will appear on the left, as shown in Figure 1. On the right is the preview window, we can see the setup screen of the system installation CD in real time. By default, the software will automatically generate a sample of the menu file cdmenu.ezb, we only need to modify it on this basis.

Click on the "Screen Layout" tab to define the color matching of the boot menu; click on the "Text Display" tab You can define the text properties of the startup menu by yourself, including the top left corner, bottom right corner coordinates, text content, alignment, and other parameters. We can also set some disc creation information here, such as entering the producer's name disc creation in the input box after "text content"; ad_dst = ad_dst+1;> time, etc.

In the “Menu Bar” tab, click the corresponding item in the window at the lower right corner of the interface, and you can see that the corresponding option is highlighted on the preview interface on the right side. At the same time, the command parameters corresponding to this option will be The "execute command" input box is displayed. The commands corresponding to the menu bar can be divided into two categories: the first type is the run command, which is used to run the Image file and start DOS or Windows 98/NT/2000/XP. For example, "run dos98" The .img" command is used to start Windows 98. Since we are making a Windows XP Pro boot disk, you should enter "Install Windows XP Pro" in the "Menu Text" field and enter "run w2ksect.bin" in the "Execute Command" field. The second type is the boot command. For example, "boot 80" means booting from the hard disk, "boot 0" means booting from the floppy disk, "reboot" means rebooting the system, and "cd\\" means switching to the root directory. Yes, A menu bar can execute multiple commands, we just need to use ";" to separate. For example, "cd boot; run w2ksect.bin".

Other parameters are based on the default values of the software. After setting, return to the "File" tab, press the "Save" button, the software will automatically generate the required startup files and menu files.

3. Make ISO file
will start accordingly Files such as dos98.img, w2ksect.bin are copied to the C:\\EasyBoot\\disk1\\ezboot directory, reducing the number of files in the root directory. Then switch to the "File" tab and press the "Make ISO" button, the software will open as In the dialog box shown in Figure 2, select the CD file directory as: C:\\EasyBoot\\disk1, set the boot file to C:\\EasyBoot\\disk1\\ezboot\\loader.bin, and do not modify it to other files, otherwise it will not start. Menu. Select the “Optimize CD File” item in the “Options” column. If you need to support lowercase file names, you also need to select “Use Joliet”. The “CD Volume Label” can be set by yourself. 4. Burning the disc
Using DAEMON Tools and other virtual The CD-ROM drive loads the Winxp.iso file and confirms that the file is not corrupt. Then we can burn it to the disc with our familiar burning software (such as Nero). In this way, a personalized bootable Windows XP installation CD is now complete.

How EasyBoot works

After the software is installed, the following directory structure will be generated. See Figure 2:

Fig. 2

An ordinary system boot CD is started in the following order: CD-ROM boot → Execute CD boot area command → Search according to the command To the specific sector → execute the relevant program. After using EasyBoot, it changes slightly: CD-ROM boot → Execute the CD boot area command (loader.bin in Ezboot) → Load the desired program and the specified menu file in the current directory → Display menu → User selection of the menu Find and execute the mounted boot image in the current directory → Start using the image emulation disc → Execute the relevant program.

I believe that I read the above description, and everyone has a general understanding of the working principle of EasyBoot. Simply put, EasyBoot provides a Chinese menu interface, and then implement different operating systems by executing different boot images by selecting different menus.
