Solution for more than 2G errors when burning DVDs with Nero

I don't know if you have encountered such a situation: burning a DVD disc, when the file is larger than 2G, Nero will prompt that you can't burn such a large file, you need to convert the format. what on earth is this kind of happenings? How can we solve this problem?

Actually this is a format issue.

First introduce two commonly used disc formats: ISO and UDF.

ISO-9660: Also referred to as ISO, is the only universal CD-ROM file system developed by the International Organization for Standardization in 1985. It is supported by any type of computer, and all programming software supports it. . Moreover, if you want all CD-ROMs to be able to read the burned discs, you must use ISO-9660 or a compatible file system. Other file systems can only be read on CD-R or CD-RW. (Some also need the corresponding burning software to cooperate). ISO-9660 currently has two standards: Level 1 and Level 2. Level 1 is compatible with DOS, the file name is in the traditional 8.3 format, and all characters can only be 26 uppercase English letters, 10 Arabic numerals and underscores. Level 2 is improved on the basis of Level 1, allowing the use of long file names, but does not support DOS.

UDF is an abbreviation for Universal Disc Format. It uses the standard package writing technology (PW, Packet Writing) to make the CD-R as a hard disk, and users can modify and delete files on the CD. The basic principle is to package the data first when burning, and temporarily create a special file directory table in the memory, and take over the access of the system to the CD. The deleted file or the modified part of the file still exists in the CD-R disc, and the modified part is written to the disc as a separate data block, except in the memory table of contents, by setting permission and not allowing Redirected addressing methods such as access and special links reassemble the data so that the system can't find "old data" or replace the old data with new data to achieve deletion and modification. When the user finishes the operation, the new directory table is written back to the disc and the operation contents are recorded so that the disc can be read later and the data is restored (Undo). In this way, the convenience of operation is undoubtedly greatly increased. Moreover, when using UDF, you can generally use the resource manager in Windows to burn. It is not necessary to use the ISO image file for burning. After each time, you must perform the Close Session operation. , reducing the chance of burning failure. Software that currently uses UDF technology also supports burning CD-RW discs, but in some details, such as deleted files are really deleted and no longer deceive the operating system. However, while increasing convenience, UDF also reduces the effective storage space, and also formats the CD-R and CD-RW discs in advance, and the capacity of the CD-RW disc after formatting is reduced by nearly 100MB. So everyone should use it as appropriate. In addition, it has a derivative format, UDF/ISO, which uses the UDF technology to make ISO standard discs.

The difference between the two:

ISO does not support a single file larger than 2G;

UDF supports files above 2G size;

ISO compatibility is good;

UDF DOS and Win98 systems do not support this format, 2000 and XP systems and MAC systems support;

The following is the topic, which introduces the correct solution for more than 2G errors when burning DVDs with Nero.

The specific steps are as follows:

When NERO is newly created, select DVD - select DVD/UDF - select "No Multisession"

Note: Select "No Multisession" to maintain the maximum compatibility of the DVD and read it on most optical drives.
