Win10 9901 taskbar search box default text setting tutorial

In Win10 preview version 9901, the search box of the taskbar is visible by default. The default text "Search the Web and Windows" is prone to aesthetic fatigue, so we can try to modify it to your favorite text.
The modification method needs to be operated through the registry, so it is best to back up the registry before the change, just in case.
The specific steps are as follows:
1. Enter regedit in the start menu search bar or run and press Enter to open the registry editor.

2. Locate HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionSearch. If there is no Search, you need to right click on CurrentVersion to create a new key named Search.

3. After selecting Search, right click on the right side to create a new string value (Sring Value) and name it SearchEditBoxText. Then double-click to open, enter any text you like, such as http://www.xpgod.com

4, restart the file manager explorer.exe, the text just modified will take effect. The file manager operation can be easily implemented using the soft media cube.
If you want to restore the default text, use the same method to enter "Search the Web and Windows" into SearchEditBoxText.
