How does Win10 set up a local connection to a metered network?

  

In Win10, the default is to not allow users to set the local connection to the metering network, but we can do this by modifying the registry.

After setting the local connection to the metering network, Windows updates will not be downloaded automatically, which is more useful for friends who don't like Win10 auto-update. Similarly, Windows Store apps won't automatically download updates, of course, this one can be set in the store.

Set the local connection to the flow rate network method:

1, press Win+R to open the run, enter regedit and press Enter to open the registry editor;

2, expand the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\NetworkList\\DefaultMediaCost

4. Find Ethernet on the right side, the item is local connection (Ethernet), double click, change its value to 2;

Modify its value to 2

5. After rebooting, you can set the local connection to the metering network.
