Vista II? A comprehensive and in-depth understanding of Windows 7

Microsoft will introduce Windows 7 pre-test version, enveloped in this mysterious "product", the aura of the head will soon be spread.

Microsoft CEO Steve & Bull; Ballmer said that Windows Vista is great, Windows 7 is Windows Vista with a simpler user interface and higher performance. I am not encouraging users to adopt a wait-and-see attitude. Provide more new features and compromise compatibility.

Ballmer also refutes that Windows 7 is just a version of Vista's "small mess". He pointed out that Windows 7 is a new version of the Windows operating system, because its improvement is quite large, it takes less than two and a half years for Vista to "small and small".

As the successor to Vista —— Windows 7, originally scheduled to be released in early 2010 (although there are rumors that Microsoft intends to release it earlier. But in addition to indicating that it will improve Vista's kernel, Microsoft has not announced other details of the new operating system —— until now). In order to help readers better understand the next generation of Microsoft's flagship operating system, we will further elaborate.

Interface: Refreshing and elegant Windows

Vista's interface style is reinvented to emphasize the substance: its most eye-catching new feature is the Aero translucent user interface and 3D window switching (fancy, but not special it works). In addition, the new UAC user account control security features have also deepened people's bad impression of Vista.

And Windows 7 takes a different approach. The interface contains a lot of changes, but more emphasis on efficiency rather than useless fancy appearance. The purpose of these changes is mainly to help users work wholeheartedly without being distracted.

The first thing that has been changed is the Windows taskbar —— the core component of the Windows experience, the Windows experience has rarely changed since the beginning of Windows 95. On Windows 7, the taskbar started to change face. The familiar icon containing the running program disappears on the taskbar and there is no label on the taskbar location, indicating that the running program is a large icon.

Vista's taskbar thumbnails only show the preview window, which grows larger when the mouse is over. But if you have multiple windows running, such as if you have several browser windows or word processing files, then you can only see one window at the same time. In Windows 7, thumbnails of the multi-view window can appear on the screen at the same time. When you hover over a thumbnail, you'll see a full-size preview window. Of course, you can also close the window's thumbnail.

Click on the icon on the taskbar or click on the program icon in the Start menu and you will get “jump list”, a brand new Windows feature —— Context-specific actions for specific applications, such as files that you have recently used or used frequently. Jump list provides access to a variety of tasks and applications with a single click —— Windows Media Player to play music, or file records recently opened by Word and Excel.

Of course, not every large icon on the taskbar represents a running application. In Windows 7, the taskbar icon can include devices that are connected to your computer. For example, when your digital camera is connected to a computer, an icon pops up on the taskbar. When you click on the icon, the system will lead you to the device center —— one-stop access to hardware-related tasks and information.

Icons become streamlined

The Windows 7 taskbar still contains a notification area, which is what we often call a system tray. However, for each application, you can choose to show or hide its icon, or you can choose to show or disable its notification message.

At the far right of the new taskbar, you will see a rectangular icon. Click on the icon and all open windows will be minimized so you can see the entire desktop. This icon is not currently placed in the Quick Launch toolbar. If you are passionate about desktop Gadgets, this feature will be used frequently for you. This is because the sidebars that used to store Gadgets are gone forever, and these gadgets are arranged on the desktop.

Microsoft also introduced several easy-to-use window management features that are useful: if you want to work in two windows side by side, you only need to drag Move the second window to the side of the screen, then another window will automatically bounce to the other side, making the two windows each occupy half of the screen area.

UAC: Let's try it again

A very important issue with Windows XP is its security. In Vista, Microsoft added user control features to try to protect users' security.

In fact, this feature will remind you every time, "Are you sure?" ”, only after you click to perform other operations. Therefore, UAC under Vista is also widely criticized by users, and basically, it has only two settings: open and close.
