Some misunderstandings in Windows 7

summarizes some of the misunderstandings and confusions that newcomers are prone to when using Win7. Let me explain them so that newcomers can adapt to the new operating system as soon as possible.

1, memory usage problems:

This is a big misunderstanding, many people use the XP era to look at Win7, this is wrong, because the memory usage of the two itself different. Many friends complain that the Windows 7 system has heard that it takes up a lot of memory and needs to be equipped with 3G or 4G memory. This is a misunderstanding.

For example, 2G memory is equipped with Win7, the boot display takes up about 500mb, 4G memory is loaded with Win7, and the open takes up more than 1G. The larger the memory, the bigger the memory. XP is basically fixed, and the memory usage of 2G and 4G installed systems is similar. So, using XP's theory to look at win7 itself is wrong.

Windows7 Home Supplement: The reason why Win7 does this is to fully utilize the system idle memory as a cache of applications and systems, so that the execution software speed will be significantly improved, far superior to XP system.

2, UAC (user account control) problem:

In fact, this is a very good mechanism, Win7 inherits from the UAC mechanism under Vista development, at least a lot of viruses after UAC is turned on. It cannot be executed secretly because any system changes need to be confirmed by UAC. Turning on UAC means adding one more way to let you know what the system is doing, and the security is higher. Of course, the administrator account (the system default top-level administrator account) is the same, just because the administrator has the highest authority, so many viruses or hackers can easily use it to do a lot of things and you can't know, and there are still many people. Setting a password is simply opening the door for hackers and viruses. Accounts with lower privilege are good for the security factor. In fact, the original XP version will let you create a new account instead of using the administrator after the installation, but because the domestic streamlined, ghost version xp too much, and they default to the use of administrator, so many people habitually use the administrator (This is particularly vigilant, but it is still not recommended to use the XP system). Normally, using a non-administrator account has no trouble for daily operations. If you want to use the administrator, it is recommended to change the name and set a password. This is a good habit.

Windows7 Home Supplement: The internal staff of the soft media company are basically open UAC to let Windows7 streaking (streaking means not installing any anti-virus software).

3, the operation is not as convenient as XP:

This is an adaptive problem. When I first used Vista, I also felt that I couldn't feel the North. But after I got used to it, I felt that many changes were very intimate and convenient. In particular, the changes in the details of win7 are closer to the user's operating habits. It is highly recommended that you read the article "Illustrating the 5 most popular new features of Windows 7". Microsoft has spent a lot of effort on the Windows 7 system.

4, software, game compatibility:

In addition to those old software that does not update, now the software basically has a version corresponding to Windows7, at least the common software is completely flawless. As for those large commercial software, it should be able to keep up with the trend. Only some domestic software may have some problems. In fact, this can't blame the operating system. The software is not the most important reason. It is really inseparable to run a virtual machine, basically solve it. As time goes by, compatibility issues will not exist sooner or later. Windows 7 is much better. After Vista's preparation, the incompatibility has been at least a long time. It is no exaggeration to say that when XP was first launched, the phenomenon of incompatibility was several times more than that of Win7. This did not affect XP as a mainstream system for many years.

5, optimization:

See a lot of posts about optimization, turn off this, that. I personally feel that it is meaningless to make win7 a class xp in order to save a little space. So you should continue to use xp, you said no? Win7 is installed by default, it is quite good, there is not much optimization value, it is quite good.

Novice users should not blindly do not know why to optimize. Now the software packages such as Windows 7 Optimizer and Rubik's Cube are more integrated, such as setting, cleaning, security, beautification, hardware, and practical system tools. Comprehensive software. In addition to the optimization wizard and one-click optimization provided, other optimization functions should be operated as far as possible.

6, close Windows Update:

In order to prevent Windows Vista from being shut down by Microsoft ban, this is also a misunderstanding. Windows Update is the root of cure, and the foundation of system security. How to install anti-virus software can't make up for it to make up for the defect. Third-party patching is far less understanding of windows than windows itself. Windows Update is nothing terrible, open it, really. The author from the XP to Windows7 all the way to open the update, did not cause any blood. If the user has a shadow on the update, you can set the update to have an update prompt, but not automatically install, so you can check which updates you do not need to install, in order to prevent the misplacement of some patches that may ban piracy. Turning off update is highly undesirable.

7, Windows7 high temperature:

This is true, after all, the interface of the system is more gorgeous, gorgeous must be the price, and like women, love beauty makeup will cost more. Especially notebook users, because many notebooks are integrated graphics, which means that the CPU needs to act as a GPU. When such a notebook uses Windows 7, the CPU calculation amount is higher than the use of xp, so it is normal to increase the temperature. I believe that the original notebook will be better controlled in terms of temperature.

8, crash, restart more, the Internet is slow, watching the video spent:

To be honest, these are caused by software, driver problems, and the system itself has nothing to do. The crash, restart, and slow down the Internet have never happened. The video is unclear, jagged or too stuck. This is not true. The video is unclear and jagged is related to the graphics driver and rendering. In the default rendering mode of the player, the new version of the graphics driver will cause this phenomenon, and the old version is no problem. (The nvidia graphics card uses the 182.xx driver as the dividing line. These problems exist above 182.xx. The following does not exist.) If you can't solve the problem by replacing the driver, you can usually try to change the rendering mode of the player. In general, because of the system changes, the old rendering method and the system itself will cause some conflicts, so these problems are caused. I believe that with the passage of time, the playback software will be perfected and these problems will be solved. There is a problem with jaggedness on the line. Some people say that turning off the aero effect is fine, because I have not encountered it, so let me mention it. In addition, the problem of playing video cards, especially some 720P/1080P MKV. This is because win7 has a built-in decoder, you will find that the newly installed system can play even if no decoding is installed, which is the credit of the built-in codec and decoder of win7. However, the compatibility of these programs and decoders is definitely not as good as those of the corresponding codecs and decoders, so it is normal to make some discounts during playback. By default, the system's built-in decoder has the highest priority, plus the current editing and decoding software has not fully penetrated win7, so it is normal to control. You can delete the built-in decoder yourself, or wait for the encoding and decoding software to be updated to compete for priority (wincodecs seems to be more targeted). The msmpeg2adec.dll and msmpeg2vdec.dll files in the system32 (32-bit system) and syswow64 (64-bit system) directories are the culprit of decoding. After obtaining the permission, rename or delete the file. However, win7's system score detection needs to use them, it is recommended to change the name.

Other issues may not be listed. Here are some of the problems that I have encountered since using Windows 7, and provide solutions. I hope that all win7 users can make a smooth transition, and realize that win7 is superior to xp, instead of giving up adapting because of some problems, and thus continue to use xp, so that it will never progress.

This post is not intended to challenge the high-ranking people, authority, if you have any mistakes, please be friendly. This post only draws some experience based on the experience of its own use, hoping to help some new friends who have encountered the same problem, this is enough!
