Win7 takes up too much space. Simple for C-slimming

Many students installed the win7 system and found that the space of the C drive is seriously insufficient. The WIN7 system has a high requirement for hardware. What we can do is the work of slimming after the system is installed.

One step

is to open the Administrator account, first get the highest administrative privileges, method:

Right-click desktop computer--administration, local users and groups--users, right-click Administrator--Properties, remove &ldquo ; The account has been disabled > before the checkbox, log out the current user login to the Administrator account.

1. Disable hibernation, click the Start menu, all programs → Attachments & Rarr; Command Prompt & rdquo;, right click and select “ run as administrator & rdquo;, enter the command prompt, manually enter & ldquo ;powercfg -h off” and enter; Vista can delete the hibernation file by disk cleaning.

2. Delete system backup, turn off system protection: right-click desktop computer--properties--advanced management settings--system protection, select the disk to open system protection, configure, select “ turn off system protection”, Application, ok.

3. Transfer virtual memory: right click on the desktop computer - properties - advanced system settings - advanced - performance - settings - advanced, click "dummy memory" ; button, cancel the "automatically manage the paging file size of all drives" check box, select the system disk where the virtual memory is located (usually in the C drive), select the following "no paging file", and then click “ Set the & rdquo; button. Then select another disk and put the paging file on it. If the memory is larger than 4GB, consider setting up virtual memory no longer.

4. Transfer "user's file" (the desktop double-click on the Administrator folder), it is recommended to transfer the following system folders:

Favorites, video, music, Image, document. Right-click the project property to be transferred -- position X:\\Users\\Administrator.

Generally, you can do the above four steps. The following files are deleted. The hard disk space can be ignored.

Manual slimming strategy (deleting files without deleting functions, simplifying optimization and not optimizing performance)

1.C:\\Windows\\Web\\Wall*** (Windows comes with wallpaper) recommended Transfer.

2.C:\\Windows\\System32\\DriverStore\\FileRepository Bottom:

Search for input ati*.inf (14.6M) nv*.inf(94.9M) (A card user deletes NVIDIA , N card user delete ATI)

Search input mdm*.inf (21.6M)

Search input prn*.inf (781M) prn All are printer drivers, I believe most People can't use it.

Note: prnms001.inf/prnoc001.inf/prnms002.inf These three are not printer drivers and are recommended.

3.C:\\Boot (13.3M) This is a Windows startup interface for different languages, except zh-CN.

4.C:\\perflogs\\System\\Diagnostics (9.39M) This is the test record file storage location after system testing, delete.

5.C:\\Windows\\Downloaded Program Files When some programs are installed, the installation files will be extracted to this folder. Can be safely deleted, ranging from tens of M to several hundred M.

6.C:\\Windows\\Help (66.7M) can be deleted.

7.C:\\Windows\\IME\\IMESC5 (Can be deleted using third-party input method)

Microsoft Pinyin input method (74.5M) can be left

8.C:\\Windows\\Installer, the program required for uninstalling the installed program is modified. If it is deleted, some programs will be uninstalled and modified.

9.C:\\Windows\\winsxs can't be deleted, but it can be compressed. The compressed size is 2.48G. Save space near 1G, system files, total size 3.22G (personal suggestion do not move)

C:\\Windows\\winsxs\\Backup (backup file, 354MB), update SP patch after deletion may cause failure .

10.C:\\ProgramData Some programs will put some files into it when they are installed. See the need to delete them. The installation files exe and msi can be deleted, but some files are needed when the software is running. Indiscriminately deleted.

11.C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Games The system comes with games. If you don't play, you can delete them. The method of deleting your own games is as follows:

Start-Control Panel-Program-Open Or turn off the Windows function, find the game, click the plus sign to expand, remove the checkmark in front of the game you want to delete, and then OK, you can also turn off the features of the Tablet PC optional components /Windows DFS service /Print Service /Windows Fax and Scan /Windows Conference Room /Remote Differential Compression, if you need to open IIS, open the Internet Information Service here.

Modify the registry to speed up the Windows 7 system boot speed
