Windows 7 solves the problem of "easy transfer" can not find the file

  

Microsoft has just solved a problem encountered by many users under Win7, this problem mainly occurs in the file transfer function. The specific symptoms, causes, and methods are as follows:

Symptom: When you use Windows Easy Transfer to restore data from a partitioned migration store in Windows 7, you receive the following error message:

The file cannot be opened when Windows Easy Transfer.

Cause: This issue occurs when the migration storage file for the spanned volume is not in the same location or the migration storage for the spanned volume is corrupted.

Solution

Method 1: Verify the location of the migration storage file

1. Click the Start button, then click on "Computer" to open the Explorer

2. In the upper right corner, type *.mig in the search box and press Enter.

3. Please note the location of all files with *.mig, *.mig01, etc. *.mig extensions.

4. Make sure that all files with the *.mig extension are in the same folder.

If they are not in the same folder, follow these steps:

1) Select a folder in the migration store.

2) Select all *.mig files listed in the Search Results window and not in the migration folder selected in step 4.

3) Click "Copy" on the "Edit" menu.

4) Open the folder and you choose to click Paste in step 4 and on the Edit menu.

Try running Windows Easy Transfer again.


If Method 1 does not solve the problem, try Method 2

Method 2: Copy the migration storage file to another location

1. Right-click an empty area on the desktop, point to New, and then click Folder.

2. Migrate Temp, name the folder, and press "Enter".

3. Click the Start button, then click on "Computer" to open the Explorer Click.

4. In the upper right corner, type *.mig in the Search Computer box and press ENTER.

5. Please note the location of all files with *.mig, *.mig01, etc. *.mig extensions.

6. Select the *.mig extension and all the files listed in the Search Results window.

7. Click Copy on the Edit menu.

8. Open the migration Temp folder and click Paste on the Edit menu.

9. Run Windows Easy Transfer and point to the location of the migration Temp folder when you transfer files and settings to your computer.

If Method 2 does not solve the problem, try Method 3

Method 3: Check Hard Disk Error

Use the Chkdsk tool to check for disk problems. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click the Start button, then click on Computers to open the Explorer

2. Right-click on the migration containing the migration File the drive and click Properties.


3. On the Tools tab, click Check Now in the Troubleshooting area.

4. Click to select the "Automatically fix file system errors" check box, and then click to select the "Scan and try to recover bad sectors" check box.

5. Click "Start".

6. If you receive the following message: "Windows cannot check the disk, it is in use. Do you want to schedule disk check the next time you restart your computer?", click "Schedule Disk Check" and then restart Start the computer:

Note: Disk check may take a few minutes depending on the amount of hard disk. For best results, do not use the computer to perform any other tasks during the disk check.

Try running Windows Easy Transfer again
