Samsung will launch Windows 8 tablet in the second half of next year

According to foreign media reports, Samsung Electronics PC sales and marketing director Uhm Kyu Ho said on Wednesday that Samsung Electronics plans to start selling tablets using Microsoft's latest operating system, Windows 8, in the second half of next year. According to Uhm Kyu Ho, this Windows 8 tablet will probably be an improved version of the Series 7 tablet. Series 7 has a touch screen and wireless keyboard. Uhm Kyu Ho said that the improved version of the Series 7 tablet will use the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system.

Microsoft on September 13 launched a Samsung-developed device that uses Microsoft's latest Windows 8 operating system. The Windows 8 operating system allows ultra-thin laptops and tablets to be turned on immediately, and can be used for one day with a charge. The launch of the Windows 8 operating system enables Microsoft to compete with Apple and Google in the fast-growing mobile operating system market.

Nam Seong Woo, head of Samsung's PC business, said Samsung Electronics is currently targeting Series 7 to business users. Series 7 uses the Windows 7 operating system and is capable of running applications on a PC, so it is more suitable for users who need to make forms and documents. Nam Seong Woo said that after Microsoft introduced the Windows 8 operating system, the company will provide operating system upgrade services to Series 7 users.

Samsung Electronics did not include sales of Series 7 products in tablet sales. Kevin & middot, vice president of Samsung's electronic information technology solutions business, said in February that Samsung Electronics' sales target for global notebooks this year was 18 million units, an increase of 80% over the previous year.

Market research firm Strategy Analytics analyst Thomas · Thomas Kang said on October 21 that Samsung Electronics has become the best-selling Android tablet device manufacturer in the third quarter of this year, with market share. It is about 9%. According to Strategy Analytics, Android devices have accounted for 27% of the tablet market, up from 2.3% in the same period last year. At the same time, the market share of Apple's iPad tablet dropped from 96% in the same period last year to 67%.
