Win8 tutorial: Prevent Win8 system from automatically cleaning up thumbnail information

The new user interface of the Win8 system and the optimization for the tablet have left a deep impression on the user. In fact, Win8 also uses new network settings, personalization management, system login and system security options. As with previous versions of Windows, Win8 strictly manages user permissions to prevent users from making random changes to the system's default settings. Almost all special files, including user profiles, system32 files, and library folders, are assigned permissions by the system. The system allows them to add and access files, modify the properties of extended files, delete folders and subfolders, and clean up junk files from folders. The Explorer folder is such a special file related to user configuration. When the space occupied by the thumbnail information reaches the limit value, the folder will automatically clean it up. This article will prevent you from automatically deleting thumbnail information by teaching you how to set the permissions of the Explorer folder, so that the thumbnail information can be saved for how long you want to save.
First of all, to log in to the system as an administrator, we need to use the administrator's permissions to change the system settings. Win+R opens the run, enter "%userprofile%" and make sure to continue typing \\AppData\\Local\\Microsoft\\Windows in the address bar (note that since the path is a hidden folder, you need to view - Options - View Check to show hidden files, folders and disk drives to locate the address)

Then right click on the Explorer folder to open the properties window, click on "Security", then click on "Advanced" in the security dialog ”

Click “Add” - “Select Subject”, enter SYSTEM in the text box to get the SYSTEM permission item, click “Show Advanced Privilege”, the type is changed to “Reject”, check the advanced in the figure below. Permissions, click "OK" when finished.

After returning to the previous interface, first click "Apply" in the lower right corner to save the settings, then click "Effective Access" and enter the question in "Select User" Add the SYSTEM and click "View Active Access" to confirm that the information you just added is correct.

In order to prevent accidents, please restart the computer and log in as an administrator. The thumbnail information will not be automatically cleared by the Win8 system.
